Technically speaking, pokemon came about not only because the creator got his inspiration from bug catching and battling his beetles with other kids, but the idea for the game also came from a Dragon Quest spin off that solely focuses on capturing monsters and making them fight for you So hypothetically speaking pokemon is a rip off of DQ

I still remember seeing the commercial on tv and asking my mom to get me the game for Christmas and it was the first game and I put over 400 hours into it. I like this series a lot, but the music choice for this trailer is very cheezy. But I liked the other games. Also, I hate it when a game has you collect creatures and battle with them everyone claims it is a "Pokemon clone". Just because you collect creatures for battle doesn't make it a Pokemon clone, I hate when people do that to Monster Rancher and now this game. Pokemon wasn't the first game ever about collecting monsters for battle people.

I agree with you 100% Apollo. I mean, the same thing happened to spectrobes when it was first released. Also, there are some people who claim that fossil fighters is a rip off of spectrobes. I mean, just b/c players have to excavate fossils in both games, & the whole "ultimate evolution" for certain vivosaurs went down in the second game, that doesn't mean that the fossil fighters franchise is a rip off of the spectrobes franchise.

Fossil Fighters: an OG classic. Sure the story was a bit predictable but it held the audience to the end. Nice colors, and interesting characters. Fossil Fighters Champions: A direct step up from the first one with better graphics, a new battle mechanic, rotating, and tons of new vivosaurs to revive. Also brings back old characters and you can super evolve your vivosaurs to be far stronger than before. Fossil Fighters Frontier: yeah we got some cars and a 3D mode. You’re gonna need other people’s help to get you through the campaign and we didn’t really like the look of the original designs so we completely changed every vivosaur. The cleaning system is decent and the fighting system was kinda eh but hey at least we got cars. Also, the final boss is damn near impossible unless you use Becky and the Tarbosaurus teammate

Okay, let me make this very clear. FOSSIL FIGHTERS IS NOTHING LIKE POKEMON, SPECTROBES, OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT! The fighting mechanics in Fossil Fighters are extremely different from those in Pokemon. In fact, all of the mechanics are different. Fossil fighters is focused mostly on assembling compatible teams for strategic battles. It takes into account things like compatibility, range, support effects, team skills, FP recharge,and element. Compatibility basically is what allows the use of team skills, which affect the entire team. For instance, Carchar, Sungari, and Brontoth are compatible with each other, and therefore, can use their team skills when in battle together. Range determines how effective certain vivosaurs are from different distances. T-Rex for example is a Close-range vivosaur, meaning it hits harder when closer to an opponent, while Brachio, a Long-range vivosaur, hits harder when further away from an opponent. An example of support effects would be, Tricera increases its allies' attack stat when in the support zone, but decreases their speed. This helps determine the best position for a vivosaur to be in during a battle. FP are points that are charged up every turn, and are required for your vivosaurs to be able to attack. For example, Dimetro fang, a moved used by Dimetro, requires 60 FP to be used. When used, it uses up 60 FP, which must be charged on the next turn. The higher the rank of the fighter, the more FP they charge up every turn, and the more FP they can have saved up. Element is very simple, with there only being 5 elements. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind and Neutrality. Fire elements are very effective against Earth, but weak against Water. Water elements are strong against Fire, but weak against Wind, Wind elements are effective against Water, but weak against Earth. Earth elements are very effective against Wind, but weak against Fire. Neutrality has no strengths, but also no weaknesses. There is also a Legendary element, which functions the same as Neutrality, but is extremely rare. The only vivosaurs to have the Legendary element so far are the three brains (Fossil fighters only), Igno, Frigi, and the Zombiesaurs (Fossil fighters champions only). There are also status ailments, which are Excitement (this messes with the teams rotation ability), Enrage (makes enemy attacks miss for several turns), Poison (Causes damage for 1 turn), Sleep (keeps the enemy vivosaur from attacking for 2 turns), Confusion (screws up a vivosaurs ability to attack properly for 2 turns), Infection (Only Krypto and E-raptor have this ability, which when it hits, means that the affected vivosaurs will be knocked out after three turns), Scared (limits a vivosaurs use of attacks for 2 turns), Enflame (Ups attack power for a short time), Quicken (Ups evasiveness for a short time), Harden (Ups defense for a short time), and Payback (allows moves to be countered for 2 turns). There are no alternate move sets, each vivosaur's moves that it will learn are set in stone. The stats are LP, Attack, Defense, Accuracy, and Speed/Evasiveness). The only way to alter these is with silver fossil rocks, also called wondrous fossil rocks. This will also change your vivosaur's coloring. You can also use gold fossils, but these have a different effect on certain vivosaurs, such as T-Rex and Tricera just to name a few, you'll have to play champions to know what I mean. You cannot catch vivosaurs, you can only obtain them by reviving them or through events. There are abilities in the games as well, although not all vivosaurs have abilities. The overworld mechanics are also vastly different. Anything else you want to know, PLAY THE GAMES AND FIND OUT!

Sungari, Tricera, and Raja was one of my mains in champions. Have Raja charge and give it enflame from tricera next turn and watch it wreck with Raja whirl like the earth type T-rex it is. Infuse it with a wonderous fossil arm for added effect.

I think the reason for why they stopped spectrobes, is b/c the third game didn't sell so well; & since very little copies of the third game sold, disney & the creators of spectrobes just stopped creating the game. Also, b/c you have to dig for monsters in both games, that does not make the fossil fighters franchise a rip off of the spectrobes franchise. The creators of the fossil fighters franchise took the idea of excavating for dinosaur fossils, & turned it into a game.

Captain Mega Yeah, who DOESNT like a smaller roster compared to the first two, only controlling and relying on one Vivosaur, putting the battle in the hands of the AI if you manage to fail to survive, having the ones that battled ONLY get the experience (exp.), AND (if you don’t see this coming) Having your mascot dinosaur get jacked and then having weak asf dinosaurs battle against your evil version of your Dino partner and then having to grind them back up when the two games prior didn’t require as much grinding? yeah.... totally worth it. :D

The only problem I have with this game is the timer when excavating the fossils... I know, I know, If there wasn't a timer there wouldn't be much challenge to it. But the timer just makes me nervous and messes my score up.

I feel like this is Banjo Kazooie all over again. The first games were good (I never played the second one, but the first one was amazing), and the most recent one doesn't look like it's gonna be a good game. Not to mention that it seems to be based around cars, just like Nuts and Bolts. Fossil Fighters has caught the ugly. It used to be one of the beautiful ones...

I personally don't like pokemon, but I've played the fossil fighter series, and I've gotta hand it to Nintendo, I love this game, most of you who dislike this game, haven't played it, I didn't like the cheesy song! This game looks like a completely new experience and I can't wait to play it!
