It’s not even just that the Genesis collection already exists on Switch. When I looked at the comments on videos about the expansion pass, there were numerous people saying things along the lines of “Sega games on a Nintendo console?! WOAH!” like they legit didn’t know that’s been happening for over 15 years lmfao. When I was active on YT, I got a lot of support for sticking up for the then upcoming Wii U against detractors, but once the system actually came out and it became clear to me that Nintendo had no clear vision for the product l, in spite of its good qualities, I would have LOVED to see the backlash I would have gotten had I been in a position to speak my mind about it. one argument they may make on the folders footprint is the RAM used, at best, its only a few BYTES of memory folders will need, and at worst, a few KBs of RAM, the footprint will still be small so why they defend a lack of folders is beyond me. folders do not need gigabytes or even a few megabytes to cache or store into the memory unless ungodly long folder names were to be allowed, unless people need multiple folders whose name is the entire bee movie script, its not going to take up any sizable memory within the tiny footprint targets. some of the playerbase may want to organize their game tiles

As a person who couldn't care less about getting the $30 N64 games, I don't think the main problem is that the $30 gives you included services. The problem is that the original $20 didn't give us anything so by principle paying the extra $30 doesn't incentivize Nintendo getting us the basic online services. (i.e. voice chat, reliable servers etc.)

It's really funny that you mention that air conditioning is a standard thing in all cars now. When I I bought my Suzuki Vitara 2003 in 2003. That wasn't even an option for my car. I had to pay like $800 extra just to get air conditioning in my car. Also I Automatic transmission wasn't a standard in cars in 2003. I had to pay an extra $1000 to have it automatic transmission. My new Toyota Rav 4 2021. They didn't even ask me if I wanted stuff for the car. It came with all the standard features and more. The car is a lot better. It's bigger, It goes faster, It's way cheaper on gas.

When Sony locked online play behind a paywall, I felt like the only one who was vocally opposed to it. and when nintendo launched the app, i was hoping that they were going to use it for a QOL reason, and we didnt even get that, you can send invites, but if you are away but have your phone with you, you cant even respond to the invite, the other player will be endlessly waiting, or make an incorrect assumption someone sent me an invite to a mario party game and i couldnt tell them that "sorry, i was already in another lobby, i can join later", not everyone uses discord tags in their switch name, so i dont know which discord contact or if i even have them to use another platform to message let this testimony be an example to the switch app being tacked on with no enhanced purpose it should have at least had. i would have given the switch mobile app SOME defense if it at least had a way to respond to invites or actively decline them with a reason attached, but it doesnt even have that, the app gets no defense from me
