I love all the animation you did for this. Damn dude!! I've always wanted to learn how to do that stuff, but time and other hobbies push any attempts away. It just makes the magic of your video all the more special. And right on for getting everyone to help out. Those guys are all awesome people. Great video, Ian!

Thanks man. I can say the Adobe creative cloud is a awesome deal. All the programs for a monthly fee. So ive moved pretty heavy to after effects for the animations and scene editing and then move to premiere to put it all together. But theres is a steep learning curve to it.

Nintendo across the board has been aggressive to consumers and competition. Sure they probably saved the gaming industry after the crash, thanks to their "Seal of approval" and willingness to risk it, but the market probably would have recovered on its own. Awesome video Ian, and Hi Neil! Great Collaboration!

Inventory management is something that Nintendo still uses today. Amiibos, NES Classic, and the Wii are three such products that had a limited supply at launch.

Honestly, I feel James McAfee voiced by Stlka is more accurate than the actual James McAfee, sans the murdering his neighbours. (I hope :O)

I'd almost say that Nintendo in terms of how aggressive they were in the late 80s makes Apple look nice by comparison.

No single company controls as much of the market like Nintendo did. So it's a lot harder for company to pull this off. The only modern similar situation would be Value with steam. But that's there market place but they dominate PC game distribution. But Nintendo got in trouble in 2002 and 2005 for similar stuff. So they'll try it again if they can get away with it.

Artificial scarcity is still not strange to Nintendo. I love Nintendo products, but I absolutely despise the company.

It should be pointed that the reason why the State of New York and the FTC blinked was because of 1 reason: Atari. Atari Corp had fucked their antitrust lawsuit against Nintendo so hard, that Nintendo ended up winning the lawsuit and getting legal fee damages from Atari. My guess that is that the FTC ran scared on the premise that if Atari couldn’t beat Nintendo in a civil case where verdicts are rendered on the basis of preponderance of the evidence, then there was no chance the FTC could win trial where the standard is Beyond a reasonable doubt. Not when Nintendo could easily recall all the witnesses and evidence from the Atari Corp lawsuit. Side note: I find Sam Tremiel’s statement laughable. It was his ass that was on the stand when he was forced to admit that Atari had fucked up in not signing up American third parties until it became clear that licensed third parties were a necessity. Sam’s testimony would cause the jury to come back with a verdict that was favorable to Nintendo.
