Here's the Super Switch 2 gimick hopeful list: - Detachable/flippable 2nd/3rd screen for DS/WiiU, portable local multiplayer, and lightweight mountable in a VR headset. - Cameras to track controllers from the dock to bring back pointer controls AND to act as tracking cameras from within the VR headset. - (this would make a VR headset a cheap accessory being only plastic and lenses ... with the joycon sequels already being built to be fully functional hand controllers)

I think the system is going to have a mode where the console can connect to the TV undocked and you have access to dual screens, like you guys were talking about, it would allow for DS, 3DS and Wii U games to be playable on the system no matter how dependent they were on their double screen system, while also being completely optional so no game ported to the system has to use them if they can't think of a use for them and that mode can just be banned like how some games force you to play in handheld mode, while ALSO being a mode that any game CAN try and adapt their games to if they CAN find a use for it. They Wii U's biggest flaw was that the extra screen kinda made ports to the console a bit awkward because that second screen had to be used for SOMETHING after all, while also making ports FROM the console harder because games like Game and Wario DEPENDED on having two screens at all times, so having one screen makes playing the game impossible, but having a console with an OPTIONAL gamepad would solve that issue in a heartbeat. suddenly, games that require dual screens are able to be ported over while developers that want their own games on the switch two but don't even wanna bother coming up with a use for that silly extra screen can just ignore it without looking lazy. It's almost too clever, and i have heard a couple people now predict this feature independently, so i am kinda worried Nintendo is definitely not going to do it for that reason, but still it makes so much sense and along with the joy cons being able to simulate motion controls to an extent, suddenly any game Nintendo wants to port is basically at the very least 80.9% possible to be ported over.

In addition to this, i have some more predictions: So obviously with ports, if Nintendo is porting over a dual-screen game but they can get away with not having the second screen, they will probably more than likely go for having an optional "Single screen only" mode where the game functions just fine with one screen but it can be switched to Dual screen mode if you want it to. However, if they ever add DS to NSO, most of the games will probably just have an option to have both screens on one screen when in handheld mode. it won't be ideal, however, maybe down the line they will add an add-on, and/or make a revised Switch 2 sort of like the Switch lite, that adds an extra screen on to the system to play dual screen mode in handheld mode. Again it will be clunky probably but these all sound like very Nintendo things to do to me in this case, i think it's absolutely not out of the realm of possibility

I think games that get shown off in January will come into three categories. One is Switch exclusive games that has a major trailer included an exact release date. A 2nd group is the ones that is a little vague on details and the release date isn't as specific (like we get the month but not the date). This 2nd group is for the hybrid games that are releasing on both systems. The third games types is teaser trailers with only a later this year release window. This will be the games exclusive to the Switch Advance (what I call it)

I do think the reveal and showcase will be rolled all into one. I like the name of swap that was brought up. You can swap handheld and console, maybe swap buttons and functions, or maybe its modular and you can swap something in and out of it? Maybe split? A dual screen with the ability to split apart the console or something else you can split which could be buttons also. I like slide also being able to slide things around. Stream is also an interesting name for me. The gimmick could be that your handheld can stream to things, maybe they have more streaming things and maybe you could stream games with other local players.

For ARMS 2, that could actually be outsourced to Studio 2 (who helps EPD 9 with all their Switch projects) like how Eighting helped with Pikmin 4 while the rest of EPD 10 worked on Mario Wonder. The job listing people thought was for a remaster was actually about “remastered 3D backgrounds” for a 3D action game, which could fit for an ARMS 2 that brings back the first game’s stages. Plus they wouldn’t have to wait until the rest of EPD 9 is done with Mario Kart 10. As for Smash, I do think it’s getting a new game, but not until 2026. Backwards compatibility will negate the need for a port of Ultimate, & Sakurai went on record saying that he prefers each Smash game to be distinct. That plus Studio S is hiring for a side-view action game, which only really fits Smash.

Nintendo saw such amazing success with NH - the potential there - and they really need a reason for all the Animal Crossing induced Switch buyers to get on board with the successor console. Public reveal definitely, but I have a gut feeling that Nintendo is projecting a June 2025 launch for the thing, and will spend 2024 focusing on making the most out of the Switch. ▪︎ There's only 18 GB/GBC & 12 GBA games on NSO as of this typing. I don't think Nintendo would jump ship with such a miniscule lineup. ▪︎ Microsoft made a binding 10-year agreement with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty games to their hardware after their now-completed buyout of Activision Blizzard. I predict that every game from Modern Warfare to Black Ops III will receive Switch versions to hold fans over, with Infinite Warfare releasing alongside the "Switch 2"s launch. ▪︎ I also predict that a new (hopefully not half-@$$ed) Mario Baseball game would be the big summer game, Metroid Prime 4 would be the big winter game, we'd get ports of Yoshi's Woolly World for July-August 2024 & The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for February 2025, and a Johto counterpart to Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu / Let's Go Eevee (perhaps starring Pichu & Togepi instead) and remake of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War are also distinct possibilities. To be honest I don't want another console yet unless it's dual screen because the DS/DSiware and 3DS titles are the most non-preserved games out there right now and the sooner another console releases, the sooner that others are forgotten, and we don't need that right now, especially when it seems like the Switch is just kicking off. I don't think Tears of the Kingdom had a large enough demand to need an art team for the 6 years or whatever it was in development. The world was largely reused and there wasn't a whole lot of new art in the game really.

you have to remember, it wasn’t developed for 6 years. it didn’t start development until after BOTW’s DLC finished in december 2017. so it would have started development in 2018 after christmas break, and they already said a full year of development was for polishing and bug fixes, so that already makes it 4 years and five months of actual development. then covid was a thing and basically destroyed nintendo’s in house development for a year and a half. so realistically, it was really a 3 year development cycle stretched out to 6 and a half because of that.

No way Switch 2 will be dual screen... It's just silly to keep doing that at this point. I do like the idea of the new 3D Mario game being a combined Mario & DK adventure! Sounds really cool, as there's a ton of unexplored potential there. Unfortunately, I think many 1st party games will be cross gen with Switch. Nintendo rarely does that, but they've never had a home console as successful as Switch either.

that’s a terrible name. a company would never title it something that’s just a pun based on a violent weapon lmao. and even if we ignore the fact the console would be called the stupid “Switch Blade” because of the violence associated, wtf does that even tell you about a console?? it doesn’t indicate if it’s a sequel, a mid-gen upgrade, a pro, anything.

Countless articles and reviews use terms like cutting edge graphics, a razor sharp display, it's a killer app. These are all terms that have been used for decades. It's a portable system called switch. It was a jooooooke.

Switch 2... will be all about wireless low-latency video streaming to other Switch 2 consoles, VR glasses and to the TV Docking Station, without actual docking 👍 This will for example allow local multiplayer on multiple consoles with just one game copy and could enable 3DS/DS/WiiU backwards compatibility using a mobile second screen or the TV at home.

@@gridvidCompanies have tried wireless gaming with Xbox Virtual console and PlayStation Portal but the technology is just not ready. It’s not low latency unless you use Ethernet so I don’t think Nintendo will make a console that is family friendly where most people can’t use the console because not everyone has full Ethernet in their home. Plus I don’t see them making a VR headset because the competition is really high with Apple and Meta. I think they are going to play it more safe because of the failure of the WiiU (where they tried risky stuff that didn’t work). Plus they don’t need to reinvent the switch because it will sell either way.

​​​@@matthewb840 you read my post wrong. I am not talking about cloud based video streaming. I think the Switch 2 is able to stream to different devices. The streaming tech from the Wii U had super low latency... so they could built on that and do all crazy streaming ideas with the Switch 2 like those I mentioned.

Nintendo has gained so much momentum in recent years and them extending their reach to other media, like movies, just furthers their reach and keeps them in a good spot especially when you consider the abject failure of the Wii U.

3D Mario and Metroid Prime 4 won’t launch with Switch 2. That’s a disservice to the sales of Prime 4. It would release a month or two later at minimum
