The thing to remember is that the PSP didn't sell as well as the Nintendo DS but it still sold a hefty 80 million units mainly because of the homebrew capabilities. That lack of homebrew accessibility was why the PS Vita did much worse. High end, homebrew capable handheld is an often overlooked market and one that the Steamdeck serves very well

Great video as always. The steam deck is looking amazing, especially once you start considering emulation (which is something I learned a lot about talking with my cousin who got a deck recently). That being said, I still find it funny when people talk about it as if it was the "Switch Killer", considering it's waaay too late to call anything that at this point. The only Switch Killer I see appearing anytime soon is whatever upgrade or new console Nintendo comes out with and that's already a stretch. The Steam Deck does feel like it would be a healthy competitor and might push Nintendo to do better things with the Switch, though.

You must be lucky then. Whenever I play anything that fires up the CPU on all cores, then the battery will last 1-1.5 hours. I've played games like Celeste and Hollow Knight and the battery lasts 3.5-5 hours. The cost of having more processing power is that the energy levels in the battery drain faster. The whole point of it is to essentially have a handheld PC on the go. It does a good job at that.
