You should have replaced the termal paste after removing the heatsink. Ikr, the Switch wont generate that much heat, but better be safe than sorry.

the shoulder buttons on the SNES were the same colour as the housing of the controller though, I wonder how it'd look if they were that light grey instead

I installed this exact one on my switch. I also went and replaced the original thumbsticks with hall effect sticks. No more stick drift for me! I kept the old digitizer color (pink) because im waiting on the OLED mod to come back in stock but once it does, im replacing it. I have a grey bezel screen protector over it so you cant even see it. But great tutorial!

So what would one do if i accidentally stripped a screw to take off the metal backing to access the rest of the

The metal is actually real soft.... So you can easily move it around and the little hole will get bigger and it would go over the screw obviously 1 or 2 screw is not bad still have like 4 or 5 more screw but of course don't abuse 😂😂... Either way any kind of switch all the jobs are simple and entertaining

Where did you get the grey screen with the ribbon cables already attached? Or did you somehow move them from the yellow bezel?

That would be the digitizer, They come in a few different colors and will need to be purchased separately. I have some links in the description that may help.

It looks like these are painted instead of molded grey plastic. How well does that hold up?

The paint used is smooth almost velvety, it has not rubbed off with use and I keep it on my desk, no traveling, so no scratches.
