Although getting old courses back is great and all, I find it cooler to race on new ones. The combination of both is fun as seeing how new tech improves old tracks is also nice to see, but in the DLC the balance is a bit off imo. I did not play Tour, so the city tracks are kinda cool but I am not the biggest fan of them, so it is great to see this new Yoshi Island race

I imagine the roster edits to Metal Mario, Pink Gold Peach, Tanooki Mario, and Cat Peach are associated with this! I suspect that Kamek might finally be hitting the big leagues, as well as a long awaited return from Funky Kong, and if the characters have to be retro, only female character who’d fit the weight class of Pink Gold Peach is the Honey Queen!

Characters like Tanooki, Metal, and Gold Mario will become a ‘alt’ for Mario. And characters like Cat and Pink Gold will become ‘alts’ for Peach. They won’t be visible on the Character select screen anymore and much like the coloured versions of the Yoshi’s, Shy Guys, Inklings, Links, and soon Birdo. A drop-down menu will appear when you select either Mario or Peach, and you’ll select them from there. Those ‘removed’ slots will be for the new characters they add.

Never expected any characters to be added for the second half of the BCP let alone Birdo but she was long overdue and should've been in the initial roster back in the original 2014 release since she was already in the Women Racing ad for the Royal Raceway billboards. No new details of the other tracks aside, this Yoshi’s Island course looks pretty cool! I even like the gimmick of touching the “?” clouds to reveal an alternate route for the track! Not only that, I was NOT expecting Birdo to be a returning character, let alone, a whole new character added to the game! We thought no characters are going to be added during this dlc, but BOY we were wrong! This actually gives me hope for some characters who are exclusive on Tour, for the time being, return sometime soon for MK8DX!

I've always wanted a yoshi's island track and this looks so... freaking... good... stilt guys! nep-enuts! huffin puffins! those floating cloud things that form bridges when you hit them! so much care went into making this track as faithful to the original yoshi's island as possible and it's incredible. it's everything I could've hoped for from a yoshi's island track.

I'm so exited for Wave 4, I just wish they leaked more tracks from the wave, but I'm so happy to see Birdo, she is an absolute queen, the track looks really long so we might get 1 lap with 3 sections or 1 lap with no sections at all because we never had a track with just 1 lap

This DLC keeps getting more unpredictable with each wave. Nintendo has clearly heard our wants for new characters in 8 Deluxe and boy have they delivered by adding Birdo, which has now opened up the gates for more characters to join in later waves. Here's to hoping for Funky, Diddy, and Pauline
