Heck, the Bravely Default characters are already done in a similar Theatrhythm-esque style in their own respective game, plus the game was initially planned to be a FF-spinoff until they gave it a different name.

Just got this today. An astounding improvement over the first game(which was quite good). I just spent an hour with it. So many more songs, a quest mode and everything is much easier to unlock. Takes me back!

Yeah, I wish the theatrhythm series would branch out. I think the Mega Man series is perfect for this. But SquareEnix did publish it as ripley pointed out. Though a smaller studio (indies0) created it. Also, they stated this would be the last Theatrhythm game).

On the first one the controls were horrible. The 3ds screen really struggled and the screen kept not responding on the arrows which lost me so many all criticals. But this one is amazing. Lots of new songs, new characters, new modes and significantly improved controls. It os very much worth getting. It is now my favorite 3ds game.

Souma Yukihira Sure, but I also own most of the games that have the song anyways, so there's little point in me buying the games for the songs I already technically own. It looks like an excellent game though, and I'm a huge HUGE sucker for rhythm games. 39.99 is just a wee bit much for the game portion. However, it's probably an excellent deal for people not in my situation.

Joshua Workman True, if we buy in we are giving money in vain. Let them release these games on Vita, they will fail. Still weird how the KH portable games are integral for the story, yet not on PSP nor Vita. We didn't even get the KH HD games on Wii U when there really wouldn't be much trouble. Heck,Ultra Street FIghter IV can easily be on Wii U.

TheSsbcandidates Indeed, but it's cool for developers to not support Nintendo, so I wouldn't get my hopes up of seeing anything like that on Wii U anytime soon. Sure, 2015 will be an amazing year for Nintendo, the Wii U in particular, and maybe we start seeing developers changing their minds and giving us something, but until then, fuck them. There's only so many dollars I can put into gaming, and while I do buy what I can for Nintendo systems, if they can put something on Wii U but simply refuse to, they don't deserve any of my money and you're right for doing the same.

Can someone who has played this game answer this question? Does playing this game spoil some of the other Final Fantasy games? I've only played 10 and I'm play through 13 now. I love the music of these games and I want to play the game but some of the cut scenes seem to play spoilers from other FF games. Should I be worried about this?

Fix your online battles like seriously, I beat a lvl 99 guy online fair and square and he disconnected and I ended up not getting the points I deserved! you should make it that however disconnects loses and lose points, just like Pokemon X/Y

I tried the demo. Frankly, being a newcomer to the rhythm game genere, I find ultimate difficulty to be impossible, frantic and unenjoyable. Can I still enjoy the full game without touching the ultimate, or should simply give up?

I don't ever play on ultimate (and I own both games) Its well worth buying If you like final fantasy music. The adventure mode and online multiplayer are very compelling.

Grumpy Drizzle I bought the eshop version, kinda expensive (£30) but I think its worth it - with so much content, hundreds of songs and randomly generated "quests" which you share with other players. My only small gripe is that almost every feature you have to unlock by playing the game for a while. even the ability to turn off the chime sfx (which I v much recommend doing)

I love final fantasy, obviously as you can see from my youtube name.. but this game is kinda strange, doesn't seem very appealing from the gameplay it showed, it reminds me of those stupid useless phone game apps that are no good. I also am kinda confused on how they're doing this, I thought square enix and sony were like idk.. making ff7/ff8+ all exclusive to playstation.. and this is coming on the 3ds.. I guess this is an exception or something. I might get it just because I love FF, but I'm still waiting for the FF7 remake.

FF 7, FF 8, FF 11 FF 13 and FF 14 are not playstation exclusive. FF 7 and FF8 are for PS1 and PC FF 11 for PS2, XBox and PC FF 13 for PS3 and Xbox FF 14 for PS3, PS4 and PC

Look, I am from mexico. For years I have seen things that are and have been normal for me, but when I show them to people from the US or some other part of the world. They see them as weird and/or bizzarre, and that had never crossed my mind till I get told that. Now this is something Japanese, and they seem to take some European influence on this... Mexico has received Japanese stuff way before than the US and we did identify with some and other things were weird but we find them there.
