@@miesvaillanykyisyytta3252 I wouldn't exactly call it a stinker. It's a very good game. Also, fun fact. James Earl Jones did it because his grandson was into computer games and he wanted to impress him.
@miesvaillanykyisyytta3252Ай бұрын
@@POLE7645 I had the game as a child and I was revolted by the realistic looking ugly alien masks. The game has solid graphics for the time but the characters are often difficult to look at, the humor ranges from dark to bizarre and the puzzles are mostly just a way to showcase the game's technological chops rather than being interesting on their own. The dialogue and puzzles at times are reminiscent of some 1986 NES game: "Ooh me like chocolate". "Here have it mate". I'll always have a soft spot for this game because me and my cousin had it growing up but it's slow, bleak and depressing like some 80's C-movie that just keeps dragging on; even the protagonist does not care. It's still a part of history for being one of the few FMV games that came out in that era. Phantasmagoria 2 and especially Gabriel Knight 2 absolutely destroy this game or any clunky Tex Murphy game: they don't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence. But had I been 40 in 1994 I might have liked aspects of the game. I just don't see it as a timeless, culture transcending classic.

I just love the feel of games like this ; the setting, the visuals, the music. Especially when it's raining outside and i'm inside being comfy playing/watching detective games like this :3 now if you'll excuse me, i'm going to hunt for this game's ost 😎

I had this game as a child/preteen. It seemed quite overwhelming with its huge array of disks and my limited english. I do remember managing to bribe the dumpster guy and was perhaps killed by the guy you need to scare off with the doll. Me and my cousin were reminiscing about the past several years ago and somehow his thoughts landed on this game. I managed to remember the name and then we burst out laughing. It may not sound like much when described like this but it was one of those funny moments.

There was an MPEG edition of this game, infact, in the settings for this game there is an enable using your MPEG accelerator switch that can be set on or off, hinting at this; however, I could never find that special edition anywhere, but I can confirm that it existed, a demo reel presides somewhere, and on the reelmagic edition it would automatically detect the card during setup, which the original doesn't do, but it ups the res of the video and the quality of the scenes, I believe there is some footage of it hidden on the CDs that come with some of the realmagic/reelmagic cards.
