I received mine for around 20 days, ate over 2000km so far. The proportion with clear and integrity surface make the car such a beauty on the road. As a designer, I really hate useless lines on the surfaces especially on the side panels like doors. It is a pleasure to drive this car. Battery swap and the NOP+ makes long ride so much easier. In the same time, I hate the limitation of reorganize the screen of apps. You can’t change the order of how the apps laying out on the screen by press and drag, you also can’t change it by install the apps with particular order. Its no matter which app you install first, it goes to “the” position which ruining the concept of “smart” car. You can not uninstall 3rd party apps, I’m not sure that is the same case in EU. All the best for NIO’s EU expansion.

You forgot to include that you can give NOMI a different name so you can surprise passengers or family by naming NOMI their names. Makes it more fun. Imagine your wife mad at you and you gave NOMI her name..... hahhaaha ..she would have to laugh after you asked "NOMI"(your wife) to tell a joke.....or if she is talking too much and you tell "NOMI"(your wife) to "SHUT UP"

One thing, if you get the car to your personal profile the drive mode will certain keep your last settings. All settings. I guess you’re using a guest mode. Otherwise the car must be not have the correct software.⚡️🔋🏁

Got mine recently. 1) Armrest: Got used to it after a few weeks, it might be personall issue. I love the back window how small it is, in other cars i have issues with cars behind me to shine specially during night to mirrors and car, not having issues here ofc and dont have problems to use side mirrors. 2) Soundsystem: Bass is great thanks to subwoofer in back and the car shakes like crazy when playing on max sound, the quality is ok for me, but i care about bass as dnb fun for classic people it might have some quality issues. 3) Have same issue, but waiting for my personal account to be made in germany, as comments say it is not issue with personal account, but as a new profile it still resets. 4) Headroom: Dont really care as i am driver

Congratulations to a fine car and thanks for sharing. Have you recieved the latest Banyan update (2.x.x)? Self driving is a lot more stable in the new version. Regarding the Sub, NIO comfirmed it as a software issue back then.

the cons are not that bad/easy fixable and that's fine as long as core aspect are good! I see lot complain of car reviewer about software, but they never mention the app drawer and the custom actions. How is noise level? Et7 is the quietest car by far but et5 has single glass, judging by the audio is stil very good right? could not hear cars surpassing. Also VERY glad to see Assisted driving is good.

What a professional analysis, nice. Recently, I've been looking at the ET5T, a travel version of the ET5 with a much improved trunk volume, but I've yet to visit a shop to see the actual car. I wondered if I could recline the back seat and then raise the trunk to make it flat and travel as a bed car.

The subwoofer issue is known at NIO. It has something to do with the Dolby Atmos certification (to my knowledge). There were several complaints about it in the last Tech Talk and there will be a software fix eventually.

NIO's are beautifully designed cars. I'd consider them for my next car but I can't get past the bumps above the front window. They break the lines of the car and feel like they should say 'Taxi' like the London black cabs of the past 70 years.

I mean, aren’t the downsides rather minor? You can still live quite well with these flaws. I the software were to be faulty or it would drive horribly that would be a dealbreaker. Plus one of the faults, namely the limited headspace on the rear seats, can be easily avoided by choosing the estate version. Luckily the estate version looks as good as the normal sedan.

Rarely people listen to very loud music in the car now a days. If they like to I would think that they would upgrade the subwoofer themselves. If you didn’t buy the car then maybe you didn’t setup your own profile in the infotainment to allow it to save your personalized settings.

This happens at 70% of max volume so not extremely high volume. Even if the sub is to small it should not distort. It should limit the output to the woofer.
