The clan bonuses increase significantly as you rank up with them. Some of them more than others. If you go to the clan battle screen(above the transfer screen) in the teahouse and press the R2 button you'll see your actual bonus that is not displayed in the transfer screen where all clans are. Also for ranged weapons there are damage multipliers depending on range, you need to look at the reticule color. For bows white is .44, pale red and bright red is 1.0, for cannons white and yellow are 1.0 while both reds are 0.70 which means for cannons you need to be at long range. For rifles white .30, yellow .42, pale red 1.0, bright red 0.70. These are estimates btw and if you use special ammunition you always get the full damage no matter the range.

Lol, this is literally the same build I had been using to play Nioh 2, the only difference is that once I got the “yasakani magatama” I managed to add a piece of armor that gives set bonus “rifle speed up”. This way I don’t use a different skill on my rifle like “100% movement”. Also the ammo bonus from that clan increases with your standing level in the clan, you can get to (+7). You basically have to contribute to the or play while in that clan. Once I got my untouched ammo and ranged damage up, I invested into untouched unmyo magic and fire/elemental damage to boost the fire damage from the spirit guardian. The untouched onmyo magic is very good because you can use a spell that deflects projectiles (sorry forgot the name), it lets you be safe in a range fight while you take a knee. Than I also use paralyze trap from the ninjitsu. It is also a safety mechanic for aggressive enemies. One time I had the boss dodge my attack and pushed right up to my face. Luckily I had set up the trap ahead and he ran into it and got stun in place, which gave me some time to build distance and continue shooting at his face. I also have the hatchet for range battle Incase I need t be mobile or out of ammo. And I have “All Blaze” skill to increase attack and speed. The 2nd accessory, you can use anything. There are 2 in particular that I like - yokai stealth (x) and tokichiro’s goud because it gives “auto life recovery when critical”. You can also use “master of spear” accessory if you want to get “speed increased (after kill) 90%). It makes you into speed runner. Ive put over 100 hours in nioh 2, and i still feel new to it there is so much stuff lol that aside when you said you pushed your ranged damage as much as possible. What do mean exactly, i use the tastuke handcannon that is +7 as of now (fucking rough to get there), and i have 10% ranged damage on it and familiarty bonus at 19,9% aswell. Are there other things i can do to push it even further?, do the fire damage % on hand cannons actually benefit them? and are there any armor sets that have increase ranged damage as bonuses?

Here are some tips to make the build better, if you do the smith quest line on both NG and NG+ you unlock dual scaling, so max out stamina and skill for max hand cannon damage. Ofc push the level of + on your handcannon will increase damage aswell, you can use the kruoda clan which will increase the damage even further yes you will have less ammo. However i got my handcannon at +7 with max stam+skill dual scaling i got 4 expolsive rounds alot of bosses will loose such a large portion of their hp with just those 4 shots. Plus the kruoda clan also increases your overall damage with melee weapons, alone the normal rounds will be very strong, when i play solo the 6 normal rounds are enough to get very close to killing most bosses on Ng+. My normal rounds do about 6k damage per shot to the body, you can use weakness talisman to increase the damage for about 30%ish which puts it to almost 8k for normal rounds and expolsive rounds do 30% more damage than normal rounds so that becomes over 10k per expolsive rounds without hitting a weak spot. Yes this makes you not 100% ranged however it turns your cannon into a power house, and it allows for both being able to fight up close and afar and being deadly in all areas. Not to mention get 10% ranged damage on your cannon, and both fam damage bonuses you can get, this way your damage will be pushed even further. By my math each plus for me increases the damage of normal rounds for about 250 and need 3 more levels that is 750 and still need to get a lvl 170 option which increases the damage even more with all of this normal rounds will be 7k, and mind yall these numbers once again are without shooting a weakspot or from behind. This can and will shred most bosses so far ive not encountered a single boss that can take all 6 normal rounds and all 4 expolsive rounds when im playing alone in my own world. And that is without using weakness talisman aswell that is just an extra spice to make it more powerful.

Never underestimate "Speed Up" and "100% Bonus Move Speed" to temper into on the matchlock. Yatagarasu and Saika's Yatagarasu both give 20% untouched ammo so using the rifle is just as approachable as the cannon. Iai skills from single sword tree would also help as you're going to be naturally sheathing your melee weapon a lot. Kusarigama has three different variations of a sheath buff which increase Melee damage, Ki damage, or reduce dodge Ki cost. They do come with drawbacks. Skeleton Archer and Flying bolt should be your first go-to yokai soul cores. Both provide good benefits for attacking at range.

This is a very fun build to play with, but can be somewhat dangerous against yokai bosses because they do not get staggered or knocked back by the cannon shots. It is also extremely useless in co-op, because other players knock the bosses across the entire map, combined with laggy netcode and you get a terrible experience of missing all your shots and dealing no damage.

I made this build a couple days ago except I also had first samurai armor for the 30% additional bullseye damage. The build is difficult to use because some enemies charge you and some bosses literally just dodge your ranged attacks and you can’t hit them at all. It was fun for a little while though.

Hey guys i know what i'm about to say has nothing to do with the video but i have a question/problem about the Thunderous Spear build. I just started using Ame-no-Mitori as my spirit and as you all know Ame-no-Mitori has +20 lightning damage but for some odd reason now i don't have access to that extra lightning now i need to rank up my magic and courage, but the thing is it wasnt like this before. Why is that? if it helps i'm in the 5th region. I did respec a couple of times but when i first started using Ame it didnt require me to level up my courage and magic.

Youve always had to level up magic and courage to access that part of ame no mitori. Ive played with it since level 1 and that was always the case.

This might have been mentioned but in terms of talisman there's one that stacks damage as you aim down sights. Id imagine for any opener against a strong yokai or human this will give you a nice damage bonus to start combat

Been running this build for about a week now. It's fantastic. With yasakani Maharana you can run imonkaei (can't remember what it's called not near my PS4) for the blind on burn effect. With an explosive shot and 25 percent burn accumulation you burn on every shot except for fire based enemies. Helpful in some situations but not all. Was just the only real beneficial set piece to add 🙂 hope this helps
