also a thing is that with incresing + value on the gear if you had reinforced it the weight will further increase wenn i raised my tatenashi gear from + 5 to +10 the weight increased by +0,1 every 2 steps of increasing the + value went back to refining it because i suddenly was in C-Agilaty and did not realize is until I was in a mission

Team Ninja have done an excellent job with not only their combat system but their armor for both games is something I don’t think they get enough credit for. All the armor looks good for the most part it’s just a matter of whether or not it’s right for your build

Playing splitstaff feels totally different between a new character and my main. I'm convinced that splitstaff is meant for an "endgame-ish" build since it feels way too clunky early game due to its high Ki usage to have the weapon perform well. You FIRST need good Courage and honestly decent Heart, which is weird because Magic is the highest stat that it scales with. Being late game allows you to have the first two stats for prepping the performance of the weapon and then you can reliably pump Magic for damage.

ohhh, thanks for pointing this out. I just started Nioh 2 a few days ago and switched to the splitstaff but couldn't figure out why it wasn't as good as everyone was saying. Yeah, watching his Ki in the video, it's like a totally different experience.

None of the weapons are good early game considering you don't have a build. I used axe, which takes the most stamina out of all the weapons my entire first playthrough all the way to ng plus otakemaru and DLC Stamina isnt an issue as long as you manage well and ki pulse.

@@alexholmes8714 I dunno, Odachi and Axe make early game pretty easy. The odachi high stance attack is practically a ranged weapon. Plus high poise damage.

Changing Ways is also a superb skill. Heard they nerfed it a bit but it's still a beast move. Along with roar power it's the best damage outside of Dragon Dance. What's great is that it makes you leap high and avoid damage half the time. For status affliction or when surrounded: unruly revolution To destroy out of ki or unaware enemies: dragon dance For human enemies: shin crusher For enemies at a distance: roar power For horn breaking, good damage, and escaping: changing ways

Serpent Strike works very well against humanoids, or Shapeshift Strike as well, I get you don't like the latter but trust me it sometimes helps in clearing out mobs and the reach is better I feel than Dragon Dance.

Hey Cowboy, i picked up your master of confusion tonfa build but i replaced the dual sword for the kiryoki splitstaff (it had benzaiten's grace on it) and replaced the helmet to complete the one eye set and it works realy good. My question for you is : do you think the versatility bonus on the benzaiten's set could be bether then the damage bonus (consecutive attacks) of the one eye dragon set ? And if i use the benzaiten set what other set should i use to work well with a confusion build ? You cant have both because you need at least 5 piece each with the yasakani magatama.

Just buy everything that's not light gloves till you get to some, then just back out of the market, go back in, check the gloves over and over till you get the inheritable you want. Only got 4 so far, but sometimes easier than hooking up with someone.

I used the Omnyo chest piece with one of the new sets and crafted a matching rifle with the same set, giving me 250 life and 40 (I think omnyo power). Works nicely.

Tip: Never, ever run Ki damage on Dragons Dance. The Value is lower then Active Skill Ki Damage, and you cant have both. So always if you want ki damage, use Active skill ki damage for highest potential skill ki damage for any stance active skill. Also note and this just cant be right. But Active skill ki damage is higher then a stance based active, for example High Active skill ki damage is 40% lower then Active skill ki damage. In my opinion it should be opposite around this just got to be a designer misstake but its there for the taking. If you weave in alot of normal attacks then obvously Melee Ki damage covers everything but its value is lower then Active Skill Ki damage but not by alot. Since Melee Ki damage is a Blue, and Active is yellow, its far easier to roll in Active and again their values are similaar, Active slightly higher.

You need to find gear that has a stat that has a orange rectangle next to it. If you max out familiarity with that you can transfer the orange rectangle stat into an empty slot on gear

Maybe a bit late comment, but playing Nioh2 now and splitstuff is great. Wanted to mention it also has great long attack in high stance, while holding strong attack button. Nice with fast human enemies or some strong enemies, cause of long distance you use it

Just fight benkei in soul of the warrior monk until you find it. I farmed it for a few hours and got an entire divine set. Run the samurai blessing as well to give a better equipment drop rate.

One thing of note is the Vajra helm from your Tonfa confusion build apparently conflicts. So running a purity staff with the One Eyed dragon set could do with a different helm.

Yeah I was in that discussion, it was clarified later that it doesn't conflict by someone else. Consecutive damage doesn't actually have a buff icon like rage/tengen/etc, it's a passive buff that builds up.

Another solid clan for this build is Todo (the heavy armor clan) since Benki is pretty heavy, it brings in a good chunk especially if you have it leveled up to the A scaling.

You unlock scrolls late in the game/after you beat it once, I can’t honestly remember. Using the magatama that he showcases in the beginning of the video (accessory) it has a stat that makes it so you can get set bonuses with one less piece of gear. For example, one pit viper’s piece counts as two. Two counts as three, etc.

The same build I'm using to go through WOD. I made a little change to this build as I chose Inari's grace 4 pieces bonus for that Onmyo Magic Power +30 and Damage Taken -4%.

Its not removed, if the item was crafted or dropped from before the DLC dropped, it randomized the roll. But if its a new item it will keep the inheritable

I just got all of Benkei’s divine set pieces and splitstaff off of a revenant that wouldn’t surprise me if it was yours Cowboy, lol, it was on the first mission of Tengu’s disciple but had to check your stats because he’s got a beefy set and I’ve been using medium armor👺 on my splitstaff, magic is on point but I always feel like I’m not doing my build right. Constitution: 20, courage: 35, stamina: 18, strength, 18 or 19, skill: 17, and magic: 70 Edit: I think I need to take the time to really custom build some armor, I haven’t reworked all the stats on my armor sets yet by tempering

I tried farming for yas here and there and never got it. The time invested was not that great. I got a ton of crystals, oni bi cores and trinket but as other say don't go overboard. The time spent farming could easily turn into the time to beat new game plus. I did my farming when I was not right frame of mind to pit much into the game.
