Krist said he had a very good technique to sing, he could push it as far as he wanted and he was a great vocalist. He said it might have changed because Kurt was a smoker. I'm a vocalist ,and the first thing my teacher said was "Never smoke a fucking cigarette, it destroys your voice completely". But even in 1994 his vocals were awesome, he was a real great singer
@mariomikulic98768 жыл бұрын
hey I wanna learn how to sing like kurt but I'm a fucking terrible singer. Like, really terrible, my voice breaks too often. From what I see, Kurts technique is basically exhaling and sounding bored/irritated but the fuck do I know, I'm not educated in that field. How do I pull it off, any tips or guidelines?
@manualofalternativemusic8 жыл бұрын
I'm still learning ,but I used to think the same thing about myself. Everyone can sing, you just have to learn it in a healthy way. He has a physical technique,it's not just about expressing yourself, but it's very important to put emotion in the songs. Get a teacher and be patient, you'll be singing like him soon
@mariomikulic98768 жыл бұрын
I'd love to get a teacher but those are hard to come by where I live and even those that are here are too expensive.. It sucks tbh I'm trying my best to put my ideas into reality. I've got a few music projects that I'm working on and one of them is grunge so I want to learn to sing. I mean I don't want to be Pavarotti or Bocelli but I'd like to learn Kurts technique and sound at least decent
@manualofalternativemusic8 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem to find a teacher near me too, so I started taking classes through Internet. There are plenty of sites and most of them are really good, and by learning through them ,you can sing much more stuff than Kurt ,or even sound like Pavarotti if you want also hahaha I was told that was possible. Don't give up on your ideas, and that's the most important thing. There's no feeling like making music off of your head into reality. Good luck bro

Although he was great even until the end, The screaming caught up with him. I read a long time ago (right before the unplugged came out) that he was going to blow his voice, and the doctors were like " stop screaming". He was definitely a great vocalist seeing how he was amazing during that unplugged session. When he died, music sort of took a dive for a long while.

This is stupid...Anyone that has been in a band or is a singer knows why he sounds different from show to show...1. Nobody sounds exactly the same every performance unless you have a backing track playing and or you have a ton of effects in the mix of the vocal channel...2. Singers learn to sing better over time (They know how to control their voice better) 3. The early recordings that are in this video sound like Bootleg recording whereas the Unplugged Concert was remixed in a studio before it was released and the last few years kurt was alive,he used a lot of reverb,chorus and EQ on his vocal mix. He was a genius and Courtney had him murdered.If you really care about Kurt and Nirvana you will spend your time putting pressure on Law Enforcement to do something about that rather than chit chat about which year he sounded better.

On neverminds album come as you are and lithium are both 2 steps down for the tuning, so theres that, the remainder of the album it was standard e, -endless nameless. then in utero comes in with everything 1/2 step down besides the drop d songs but regardless he made the right move going a half step down, he was losing momentum in some of his performance when it was stand tuning
