I just discovered Daisy Gray and I think she is an exceptional talent. There is nothing forced in any of her notes, whether she is singing falsetto, very low notes, loudly or quietly. Her breath is invisible, and she never is grasping for it or running out of breath. Her singing sounds and appears as easy and natural as breathing. Unlike other talented singers I've seen on KZbin, her interpretations of well known songs are better than the originals, sophisticated, emotional, unique, profoundly moving and memorable. She really does make them her own, like this song by Nirvana. With her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody - I felt like I had never heard the song before, or had any idea of what it was about. She sings it with such profound understanding that her phrasing brings out the meaning, words and story behind it. I had no idea it had so much depth until Daisy Gray sang it. I much prefer her version over the original, and considering that Freddy Mercury is one of the best male vocalists, that is saying much! I also am impressed by Wicked Game (it is my favourite version) and with Lovely, she demonstrates how a gifted and accomplished vocalist is capable of singing this song, and the huge qualitative difference it makes. I also find that her performance on camera is effortlessly natural, it is almost as if she is unaware of there being a camera. There is no indication of ego in her performances, she seems unaware of her beauty, and she doesn't wield it like a weapon, or as a power by which she attempts to convince others that she is entitled or better than anyone else. It is wonderful she did not become instantly famous, because it has allowed her to focus on her gift, develop her talent, and begin to mature as a songwriter, without being distracted by the stresses and illusions of importance that come with fame. I hope she is one of those artists that is around for a very long time, and I get to enjoy throughout her career.

Wobbling between the chord and the suspended chord in the melody (as in "Hello hello hello hello") is classic Curt Cobain. Listening to this I remembered that John Lennon used the exact same trick in "A Day in the Life" when he sang "I'd love to tuuurn youu oon". With a great singing voice like this it's just beautiful.

Yaaaaaaay!!! I get to hear that magic voice again. I was listening to your songs..."Rumors"...and..."About You"...the last few days...and enjoying them. This is another...quite good...interpretation of a cover...you tend to make your covers your own...in the way that you interpret them. I've been online looking at mic preamps...which I didn't quite know how to define them...in my head quality wise. But I started thinking that they come in 3 versions...Bright Sounding (high ended / harsh and brittle)...Middle Sounding (similar to the mic)...and Dark Sounding (low ended / dull and muddy)...and I prefer them in the middle...where they affect the mic frequencies less. I also feel a mic preamp should have a good tone when hit softly and continue to have a good tone when hit hard...and that seems to be accomplished with...Transformers...and / or...Tubes...because transformers and tube act as a subtle compressor creating second harmonic warmth. So that was one of the things that I finally feel I now understand. I will try to get a more thorough understanding of this in the next 2 weeks...but I actually think I get this now. Other than...your...2 songs...(and now this current cover of yours)...the other music that I've been listening to is: Sharon Van Etten - Seventeen Jenny Lewis - Red Bull & Hennessy White Lies - Tokyo Lady Antebellum - Heart Break Robyn - Honey Dawes - Feed The Fire Young The Giant - Superposition Vance Joy - Lay It On Me Christina Aguilera - Genie In A Bottle Sky Ferreira - Downhill Lullaby Shinedown - Get Up Lana Del Rey - Hope Is A Dangerous Thing For A Woman Like Me To Have Florence & The Machine - Moderation Arcade Fire - Reflektor The Wombats - Give Me A Try Jamala - Заплуталась The 1975 - Love It If We Made It Lo Moon - For Me It's You Mark Ronson / Miley Cyrus - Nothing Breaks Like A Heart Marshmello And Bastille - Happier Jorja Smith - The One Halsey - Without Me (Vertical Video) Rita Ora - Let You Love Me Zara Larsson - Ruin My Life Camila Cabello - Never Be The Same Brynn Elliott - Might Not Like Me 2019's been a little bit slow for music...but there are a few very strong things that I have found this year (Sharon Van Etten, Jenny Lewis, Lana Del Rey)...mostly I'm listening to 2018 and some other older songs...I'm spending more time trying to figure out quality source instruments gear for instruments I don't play for making recordings (All the component part that make sounds on...guitars...basses...guitar amps...bass amps...speakers...cymbals...drums...drum sticks...drums heads...snare wires...etc.)...and I've also been looking for venues online that I'd like to play in my state and the states surround it. Thanks again for your music...It's quite wonderful...my guess is that your production team is probably shopping you around. I wish you the best of luck with that. Hopefully...you...and your family...and friends'...lives are going well. Thanks again for the music. It's a real...joy...to hear it. Take care...ma'am.
