God is good. Repent and believe the gospel. Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose from the dead. You can be forgiven. You must be born again. There was a woman who had an alabaster box of very precious ointment and she poured it on the head of Jesus. We need to honour the King. The Lord God. ”that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.“ John 3:15 KJV. The Lord Jesus Christ. Repent means change, change from sin. Turn away from sin. Love and fear God. Call on the name of Jesus Christ. Draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh to you. He saved me. There is the lake of fire which is burning for eternity and there is heaven. I have eternal life in heaven because of what the Lord has done. Be ready for the day of judgement.

It's uncanny how popular they were even before Nevermind. I remember being shown the Bleech cassette by a metal friend around the corner who was a total fan of theirs back in '90. Nirvana actually stayed in my town (Bergenfield, NJ) briefly while doing shows or some other business in NYC. I remember seeing them in a parking lot across from the billiards hall, going up to where there were apartments. I remember laughing when some girl in their entourage told my friend and I that Kurt was the future of rock. we laughed because he seemed so small, and his hair wasn't even long (remember this was hair band time).

The whole Sub Pop/Seattle thing exploded at the tail end of the '80s and dominated the US underground music scene by 1990, which was basically an evolutionary extension of the punk/hardcore scene that I'd been into since 1982. Everyone in the scene knew of Nirvana simply because they were on SubPop. Bleach was generally thought to be good if not great. Then they put out that Sliver/Dive single, and everyone said, "Oh man, these songs are totally killer. Their next album is going to be fucking amazing," and they started really picking up a lot of steam and were suddenly super popular, right behind Sonic Youth and Mudhoney. When Nevermind came out, I thought "Man, everyone would love this if they just gave it a chance. Too bad nobody will ever hear it." A couple months later, I felt pretty stupid. But I don't think anyone honestly thought they were going to be huge and mainstream. I would have laughed at that chick too.

I'm SO with you, man! I wanna go out, drink some beers in a park or something. Go to a cool, local concert. Drinking was more fun when I was to young to drink and we had nowhere to go so we had to find parks, empty houses or whatever. Then we went to these garage rock band concerts with 30 peoole. But in fact those are the times I remember as fun because everything was just about living in the moment. Now I'm old and ofcourse "adults" can't go buy beers on a monday afternoon and sit in a park drinking. I wish I could hang out with teenagers and poeple in their early twenties. They're fun. But this little shithole if a town is just garbage. I envy you. I'd love to live in London! Isn't there things happening all the time?? All kinds of bands and musicians? Everything from jazzclubs like the ones Amy Winehouse started singing in, to punk-pubs like the ones The Pistols hung around in? There must be small gigs every day of the week with unknown band playing? I wanna live in London! Go out, for crying out load! Live your life! You'll meet so many cool people, I'm sure! At least you'll meet Mick Withall or what his name is. He's probably hanging out in the same bars now as he was 10-15 years ago :-D He seems ... interesting ;-)

@WyldeRatttz
@WyldeRatttz 6 жыл бұрын
I think Courtney wanted Kurt to hate everyone he cared about, to isolate him so she could have him all to herself. Here's a quote from Kurt: "I can't think of any other band I'd rather be in. The only reason I'm in this band is because I like my friends, Krist and Dave, they're my friends and I like being around them and I like the music that we write. That's all that matters. Everything else is secondary."

" What she really means is this: "I hate so and so because they hated me first and I know no one cares so I'm gonna say Kurt hated so and so that way everyone will think it's valid. " I have heard her being heckled by fans in some town and she actually said " Kurt hates this fucking town... What she meant was she hated the town but no one would care so she used Kurt's name.

+Wardo Melena Kurt did certainly not smile a lot for quite a few years! He hated the fame and everything that was expected from a huge band like Nirvana became. He hated rhe interiews, promo and all that staged shit. He also seemed like he hated to perform when they got famous. I did not see him smile much those last years of his life. If that was because of the fame, the drugs, depression, problems within the band or other things can only he answer to. But he wasn't happy like he's here.

You nailed it. How many heroin addicts shoot up and then kill themselves in the most violent way possible? Just Kurt? Yeah, ok. Kurt being depressed and miserable came from one source...and that source sold it well. Courtney Harrison.
@WyldeRatttz
@WyldeRatttz 6 жыл бұрын
Rick Chyczewski Kurt being miserable came from Kurt. He wrote in his journals about being suicidal in his teens and wanting to throw himself off a roof. After being bullied really badly he also tried to die by laying down on the traintracks, but the train went by on the other track. Also, have you seen the photos where he's putting guns in his mouth? He was seriously depressed and fighting off suicidal thoughts for quite a while. It's obvious.

I remember reading a Led Zeppelin article around the time this footage was filmed before Nirvana became an international sensation wherein Mr. John Paul Jones stated that looking back at his time in that band seemed like it was "just a dream." You KNOW one of those down votes for this video is Shane. The guy that got kicked in the eye by the mongoloid, as Dave so eloquently put it. This was before the phrase "politically correct" was invented to keep celebrities in check. Pure, uninhibited, candid stories from the mouths of blooming musicians. It just doesn't get much better than this video.

This is so nice to watch! It makes me happy! They seem like an group of real friends having so much fun! Joking around like real friends do. Dave had a haircolor that was THE thing two years ago. He was just twenty someting years to early, haha :-D Most rock'n roll guys wanna be huge. They wanna be the biggest band in the world. And some make it. But when they do, many says that the best time of their lives actually was when they were playing small clubs, driving across the country in a packed van and sleeping on the floor in crowded apartments. Like Nirvana does here. Why is it like that?

I know it is so common for people to ask "what happened to rock?" But I genuinely am curious about why rock is not as hot as it was until the early 2000s. Did the good bands just lose their passion or something?? It's just weird how dead rock is now...
@sidandrews1203
@sidandrews1203 9 жыл бұрын
Rock is FAR from dead and there are plenty of bands out with plenty of fans. Most bands today have the same (or maybe even more) energy than Nirvana. Rock music is exactly where it should be - OUT of the mainstream. I don't mean to sound like a hipster, but when rock music (in this case, grunge) gets huge, it all goes wrong. Just look at Kurt. He hated fame and all the drama and fake fans that came with it.
@zohraishv
@zohraishv 9 жыл бұрын
Yeah but before it was easy to find awesome rock bands and songs. Even in the early 2000s there was Linkin Park with their alternative rock, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Chevelle, Foo Fighters, Hoobastank, etc. Now even Foo Fighters don't have the same Rock sound.

Their is still many good real rock bands out their. The reason that nobody knows about it is because too many people are stuck in the past and just dismiss it as hipster garbage. If you want good new rock bands I suggest you listen to Fidlar, King Tuff, Metz, Veitcong, Cerebral Ballzy, and Ty Segall. You will not be disappointed.

***** Although musical taste is subjective, Nirvana was able to connect to an entire generation of people. I listened to some of those bands you mentioned, I'm sorry but they were not very good. Sure they're talented, but I had no idea what they were singing about and I could not connect with them. They came off pretentiously artsy, as if they're saying "you can't understand us because we're artists and you're not". Nirvana really speaks to me, anyone can relate to their music and even though they're not as talented as the bands you mentioned their music is a lot catchier and, it's just so much better. Compare those mediocre bands to Nirvana and it's clear why bands today suck. No soul, no melody, nothing.
@spooninspoon
@spooninspoon 10 жыл бұрын
wow... Those people in that crowd are so lucky, I'm surprised they didn't "make it big" before Nevermind. I remember Nirvana was the reason I started listening to music. Every generation says their music is superior to the current generations music. I never thought that was true till later in life.I guess I am a victim of that stereotype. I do like a lot of modern modern music (believe it or not there is still good music out there you just have to look) but I feel bad for the kids growing up these days cause music seems more like an accessory and less than an art form. I mean during these times when we (25 yrs or older) listened to music we truly LISTENED to music and got something out of it!. Today all music is just back round noise to some kids video games. Its just not appreciated as it once was

This is amazing.. I love watching this stuff. You know you're a fan of a band when you don't skip forward and actually watch the bass player talking to a camera in an airplane bathroom about nothing at all lmaooo. Love these videos, feels like it helps to get to know their personality better, especially kurt.. Its more like you're hanging out with them instead of watching them perform or answer the same 10-15 questions.. I REALLY wish we could have gotten a Nirvana/Nardwuar interview. He's honestly the best interviewer I've ever seen. Does his research, asks 100% original and unique questions, brings up parts of their life unknown to the public.. He's Awesome, check him out. He mainly interviews rappers but they're so fun to watch because of how good he is and the people's reactions to the insane questions Are hilarious. Sorry, long comment. Thanks if you read lmao

They’re just like me and my friend’s when someone’s dad’s camera was borrowed at parties back in the 90s. Krist’s antics come from a time when the novelty of having a piece of technology that recorded you and your friends was a conduit to total irreverence, nonsense and laughter. Back then if you stuck a camera in your friend’s face they’d goof off into surrealism and improv. Now people are so used to being exposed if you stick a camera in someone’s face they’re straight “on brand”, virtue signalling. Great to remember the relaxed goofy situations that simply filming someone used to induce

That clip of them on the plane to the UK in 1990 is pretty cool when you consider that very tour is what propelled them into what would become a global phenomenon. That European tour turned people on to Nirvana in a big way. When they got back to the US, labels were hungry for whatever they had. The rest....well, is history, as they say. But yeah....on that plane, they're 100% unaware of what's about to happen...
