An easier oul free method is to make a paste just add water to the chickpea flour make a pancake consistency and pour into a nonstick pan.

I made batter with chickpeas flour thin, like liquid dough. Once poured it into a nonstick frying pan, it became round because the batter was thin. Then cook for about 45 seconds at middle heat, then flip over every 30 until gets brown.

If it’s a batter in Indian cuisine it’s called “ besan chilla” if it’s rolled and cooked on stove top as in this video then it’s “roti”

Extremely useful roti for diabetes. I always think about besan, will it be easy to make roti, because I quite often make kadhi, sweets, chilla with besan whereas making roti I had quite apprehensions. But u cleared that apprehensions and made this roti with so easy and elan. Now I will make this roti without fail,because my husband is diabetic. Thank u so much. I'm so glad she did not add wheat with my family having diabetis. My quicker method is- sieve the Gram flour (besan) into a jug add water and make a pancake like paste pour into lightly oiled nonstick pan until cooked. I then make it into a wrap with avocado or egg inside.

@@swak8434 I only add spice if im eating it on its own or with a bland filling. Sometimes I just make it into an omelette by adding salt a pinch of red chilli or chilli flakes and finely diced tomatoes and onions. I have recently also started adding half oat fibre and half gram flour to make it even more healthy. The oats can mashed into smaller bits by hand or grinded to a powder its your choice. Good luck.

Asafoetida is a powder made of dried gum of a root called ferula. It is known for its unpleasant smell and its delicious oniony, garlicky flavor. It is an important part of many Indian dishes. Although the powder is naturally gluten-free, it is almost always manufactured by diluting it significantly with wheat flour. Unfortunately most of hing has certain amount of wheat Maida.

Thanks for sharing the recipe - have tried it on several occasions but just wanted to add a small twist from our end that all the ingredients you mentioned are same however we add more water and turn it into a dosa like batter and prepare it just like a dosa - the reason for this simply because the end result for us is much faster and saves time !!
