Skinny Recipes Hello, I’d love to try this recipe. I’m having difficulty with understanding all the ingredients and measurements with the instructions. I’m just a boring American white girl 😉 and have a difficulty understanding audio instructions. I looked for the written recipe and didn’t see it. I’m sorry if I’ve missed it and not seeing it. Can you tell me how to find the written recipe? Thank so much in advance. Sorry for any inconvenience. This meal looks delicious !

This is our traditional dish in Maharashtra. We call it Thalipeeth (थालिपीठ). Instead of Jowar flour we prepare it with Bhajani (भाजणी) in winter season. Bhajani is all pulses roasted with Jira Dhania and then grinded together. That Thalipeeth is also very tasty.

Hi Nisha, made your jawar roti. Came out really good. I added couple of table spoons of freshly ground flax meal to it because in US the jawar flour we get is not as fresh as you get in India, so it tends to break. Flax meal kind of holds it together and also added some nutritional value. LOL. Please add more variations you may know. I have gluten allergy so these kind of recipes are great substitute. Thanks a lot. 😀

Hello Nisa, I tried this couple of times and it’s a super hit. I just loved it. I like the taste of jowar and used to make rotis( the long process of 1st adding to hot water and making rotis). But this is a super easy and more tasty alternative to jowar roti. With my busy schedule with a toddler, I always postpone making jowar rotis to some other day because it is time consuming. But after I saw this recipe making jowar cheela is so much easy and quick and I make it every time I feel like having jowar. Thanks much for sharing this video recipe.
