My Leaf had it's first service last week. £93. It's saving me over £350 in fuel costs per month. And it's superb to drive. If I needed a small van for business, I'd be leasing one of these!

I know that you mean. I'm even thinking of opening up a flower shop. :)

+cjm2005 what on earth do they do for £93, check the brake pads and tyre pressures?
@cjm20058 жыл бұрын
Will Datsun I think it's a consumables inspection, plus some re-greasing of important bits. I agree, it's probably too much for a service that doesn't involve a brake fluid change.

Are those real numbers? that's 4k a year, that's 40k in 10 year? That's about a free Nissan Leaf?

There is no way you are saving that much on fuel. Are you not calculating the cost to charge it every month?

My only concern is that they didn't put any more battery capacity than the leaf. Surely they could have squeezed a few more in that very empty engine bay. Especially as they are modular.
@redferret10 жыл бұрын
I think the issue is cost rather than space. They don't want to raise the retail price too high.
@SpencerHHO10 жыл бұрын
They should at least have that as an optoin, extended range battery.

@@redferret in the summer yes. Thanks. What about the 2014 model? What that be a decent buy second hand? Would the 2014 model batteries still be in warranty? Can you upgrade the batteries?
@redferret5 жыл бұрын
@@vinceking7878 second hand EVs are a very good buy if they fit your use case. That means you don't mind smaller travel distances. The degradation on batteries is not that bad, and most of them come with up to 8 years warranty. Yes Nissan batteries can be replaced, they're a modular pack.

You can forget this car with the Charghing system : Typ1 and Chademo The Car is not usable, because both types are not a europe standard and Typ1 is slow as hell. Nissan uses not Typ2 which would load the car in 1 hour in whole europe. Type2 is the standard in europe. NIssan is sleeping in this charging sector. The E-Nv200 range is 100-110 km in real !!!

I love the efficiency and design of this (although it could be a bit longer). Sadly the range makes it completely useless

I hope you talk to Carlos Ghosen CEO of NISSAN. I wonder why a salesperson can only market the LEAF not Renault ZOE/ Renault Kangoo XE/Nissan Ev 200/ or even a Twizzy. Transport Evolved News niki Gordon Bloomfield and others would like to know. A big conference needs to bring out the truth on the Renault-Nissan Alliance and why it is stalled in North-Central-South America. Why is China First and the Americas last.
@giuliogemino640710 жыл бұрын
there's too much empty space to fill with battery in order to achieve decent autonomy... this is malicious by Nissan (already done on leaf first and second...); no solar panel integrated on the roof for auto-filling, a service useful for low usage customers... this either malicious... and ridiculous in 2014... Italians are coming with Graphene battery technology... petrol price is dropping down... something in the game is changing more quickly than you think...

@tarassu10 жыл бұрын
+Red Ferret he said no radiator.. and heat exchanger is not radiator...hah
@johnbenton44889 жыл бұрын
Arnis Tarassu A radiator is nothing but a heat exchanger. Radiators are for cooling old fashioned vehicles' engines (which produce lots of wasted heat) while the heat exchanger in the EV takes it's hot air from the batteries, under very controlled conditions. In fact, keeping the batteries cooler has to be a good thing.
@tarassu9 жыл бұрын
John Benton define: radiator = a thing that radiates or emits light, heat, or sound. BTW Leaf has both: so-called "heat exchanger" (aka radiator that works both ways depending on climate control mode) and radiator-radiator, for cooling inverter and charger.
@johnbenton44889 жыл бұрын
Sorry to disappoint you, but where engines and their systems are concerned, you are talking to a professional. Where do you suppose at the heat you get when burning fuel in the engine goes? Just under 50% of it is radiated to atmosphere. Guess which bit of kit does the radiating? And how it manages to radiate it? Note. The best diesel engine in the world is 43% efficient: The best petrol engine is about 37% efficient. Look it up in a book on the subject; there are thousands of them to choose from. I learned from the Air Force, while I spent 18 months training! The heat exchanger in an EV contains no water. It's what's known as as air-to-air heat exchanger, and it gets it's heat from the batteries (which produce lots of heat when discharging or recharging. So next time you decide to appear clever, pick on someone who knows less about it than you do. There must be at least 3 of them in the world.

I drive a Nissan NV200 110 PS Diesel . The Range is about 700 Km with Diesel. A A nelectric Nissan NV200 Car with 170 km Range is a shame for Nissan. You can do nothing with this range. Nothing, its waste of money.
