no matter which business you are in: 90% of the craftsman have no passion for their job and just exchange components. Also the industry is forcing you to work like this, so they make more profit. Greedy bastards. And all the digitalisation and computers have made it even worse. Even in my business we have software issues which make no sense. And head-office or responisble departments just dont care !! I have a customer who bought a software update for their machine and it cost him 35k Euros. I implied the software and tested it and it was wrong (simple fault which takes the software engineer ten minutes to fix)..... now one year later i still dont get a fixed version for this bug, and the company gives a fuck about customers. The department constantly claims: its all okay. They just want you to buy new stuff and new components and whatsoever.... greeedy bastards.

It's incredible the incompetence of certain car repair shops who change a lot of parts except the one needed. Lack of skills, training? In any case, when a component has been changed and the problem returns, you must investigate carefully and be very professional, otherwise things will not progress. I've been watching your videos for some time now and they are very informative. Thank you for sharing all the work you do.

Great video.. i work for a few places doing diagnostic work . And they really should have their own mechanics trained better than what they are . The problem is fitters and mechanics are completely different people and most dealers have fitters , great for servicing and changing parts but no good for lets say stripping a gearbox and repairing it . DPFs are a pain in the arse unless you know what your doing... same with adblue faults and the garage will say 2 grand to get rid of you or cover themselves but most of the time your better of having a remap as the adblue tanks could be the same price you could sell the car for. Diagnosed a peugeot not so long ago been to 3 garages dpf kept getting blocked had about 400 spent on it ... turned out to be thermostat housing needed to be replaced took 20 min drive in it to see it wasn't reaching temperature so it wouldn't regenerate. when i trained as a mechanic i was taught if the car won't start.. check if there is any fuel in the tank 🤣

The thing is nobody is coming into the trade nowadays....and most main dealers just have fitters working for them...nobody has the time to learn on the job it's just fit that fit this....main stealers are the worst places to take your car!! And you would think that feck it I'll take it to the dealers..they'll be able to sort it lol 😅😅 but noooo! 90% of problems with cars nowadays is emissions related... wether it's dpf or adblue or eloys...😢

Your so right .. the thing i found is most of the places aren't even looking at your qualifications and experience and anyone coming from anywhere can they are a mechanic and people just start them and see how it goes.. Its beyond belief ..

I have a 191 Nissan Nv300. Bought new from Navan Nissan. After about 3 months lights Came on for Dpf. They took it in and did a regeneration which lasted about 2 weeks. Back in again another regeneration..told they put new codes in and that should be end of trouble.. after about a year of going in and out they decided to replace the dpf which they did.They told me I'd have no more trouble... A few weeks after I could smell smoke in the cab.. I took it into Nissan again.I said the engine is going it's burning oil I was putting over 5 litres of oil a week. They didn't believe me. Eventually I said I'll bring it in and ye can dip it and see how much it's using. THEY had to replace engine at on 78000Km. After about a week engine mgt lights on.. They did dpf regeneration and again I'd say once a week for almost 8 months. I rang Nissan Ireland and was told that it was my style of driving that was causing my problems. And that Nissan would continue to support me.. I said great put me down for two engines and a couple of DPFS. I can now confirm that the engine that was replaced in June of 2021 has now blown up. Please stay away from any Nissan Nv300 guys. .nothing but a pile of scrap.. I've spent more time under it than I was in it..

So, the dealers are reluctant to change the dpf under warranty due to cost? Ford have been the same with my transit courier. Surely their mechanics can read the dpf pressure? The constant failed regens cause oil level to rise with diesel, hence having to change oil every other week. Exactly the same symptoms on mine. After over a year of dealership visits and arguments in the office, they call in an independent who advises the dpf be changed (might even have been you!). Now waiting for over month as apparently transit courier 19 plate dpf is back order item. They even had the cheek to tell me it was my fault for not doing long enough journeys - isn't that defective design instead? Cheers

@@silverfox57 Where is your evidence that SM fuel kills filters. All fuel has to comply to a standard, that is independently tested for each blended batch. Super blends from the likes of Shell have have additives that they claim have benefits.. But their standard stuff will be the same. When I worked in the industry Sainsbury's fuel was BP. We supplied about 20% of UK fuel to supermarkets, railways, MOD and the major hauliers. On occasion the brand name tankers would fill up from our storage tanks. We also 'co-tangod'(shared) our stock with other companies in one storage tank, drawing off our proportion of what we had contributed. All feed stock for all companies comes from the same sources.
@hughmarcus1 Жыл бұрын
@@silverfox57that’s a myth. Most of the fuel is held in large holding tanks & delivered to the forecourts irrespective of brand. The additives are added to the premium fuels before delivery, apart from that most diesel is the same.

Now Nissan get the chance to show customers and others they're loyal to the warranty and will fix the problem and also accept they made a mistake and let's hope it wasn't a change something cheap and hope the warranty runs out job. I don't think they did that, I think they just didn't know how to test the DPF like the main man ( YOU ) and just did the regeneration and messed it up and they didn't know they messed it up. You should go and talk the managers and offer your testing and cleaning service to save them thousands of pounds or hundreds of thousands over time in DPF's and parts they didn't have to use. It's clear the garages don't have a clue so step in and help them I would. Might even do to myself knowing how bad they are at DPF work.
