Brilliant video. Had loss of power and engine management light come on. Thankfully only 2 mins from home. Saw your video, opened up the bonnet and hey presto could see the hose had broken. Took about 10 mins once I had a replacement hose. Now in search of an OBD reader to reset the engine light. Thanks for saving me £££ not taking it to a garage.

This helped me diagnose issue so quickly! top video, bought a new part for £20 and it took about 30 mins for me to fit. The engine light is still on however the car runs fine, will be resetting this using a OBD reader.

Mine was air related but on the return from the intercooler to the throttle body. Taped that up temp' until I can source a new pipe. Split around the expanding mouth that fits over the connecting body pipe. (not a split along the pipe). Made a whistling sound at high revs/high pressure. Was also getting 'some' oil over the throttle body/surrounding area. Bought some silicone self-adhesive tape to do the job for now.

hi anton, our nissan qashqai broke down today on the road and that pipe as shown in the video was broken. the problem is that we drived in limp mode for a good time and then we heard some weird noice and now the engine goes on only for few seconds and then we hear some cranking noise and it shuts down. do you have any idea what could it be except the pipe? thank you

You most probably have blocked the DPF in the exhaust system which means the engine now cannot breathe and will fail to run because the pipe was broken. The engine produces a lot more smoke through the exhaust and the diesel particular filter catches all the soot You might need to get the DPF cleaned before the engine will run again. Cheers for the video. I had the same issue over the weekend. I used epoxy glue to seal it. I notice that there is a bit of a lag between 5th an 6th gear. Will deleting the red engine light reset this.

I had this problem, I took it to the garage who put it on the diagnostic machine which said the air flow switch needed replacing , at the time I didn’t know that the turbo pipe had cracked . They replaced the switch,all done very quickly, I went back and picked it up . £250 later , I wasn’t pleased especially after driving away and 5 minutes later the engine management light came on . I took it back where they told me the turbo tube had gone , I looked at it and knew it could be changed easily. The hole time I’m thinking I’ve just been screwed over by £250 . I came home and ordered one from eBay Wednesday at 17:30 , new part turned up at 10:15 Friday ,price £17:50 and free postage . It took less than 15 minutes to change . I wish I’d known about this problem before taking it to the garage

My engine light ISN’T on but car seems like it’s on limp mode Hardly any power, seems to get worse if you’re turning at the same time as accelerating (pulling out of a junction) 2nd gear seems to be the worst with Jittering for a couple of seconds. Checked my Turbo pipe and yes it looks worn and as if the seal has gone, a little liquid underneath also. Will have to try this fix

Is the turbo pipe visable when u open the hood then? Having issues with mine. Black smoke coming from exhaust I find when I'm taking off or high revving and a slight dip in power. Air filter just been changed and egr valve checked. Dreading it being the turbo

its a regeneration that will clear your dpf unless its clogged to max which is 65grams . if its at max, you need to take it out , flip it upside down, and flush it with dpf cleaner ( acid) then re hook it up and do a forced regeneration ...

Hi Aaron. I just carried out this fix today. Pipe was split in two same place. Put the new part in. Tightened it all up. Cleared the codes went for a 20-30 min drive in 3rd at high rpm doing 50ish mph. Light came back on read codes again. Getting P1525 - Air Bypass Valve System code? Any idea what this could mean? Cleared it again just to see if it will reappear after a couple cycles. Any idea what that could be as I assumed dpf probably needed a regeneration after the split pipe.

Hi Michael. It is usually caused by the particulate filter. You need to remove the particulate filter itself before things go worse. I mean remove physically from the exhaust. Happened to me, I ignored it, then caused turbo damage, oil leak, and engine damage. I fixed everything now. Take it seriously dude

Sounds like you have a air leak on the turbo hoses still, are the intercooler hoses pressurised when you rev the engine 👍🏻👍🏻

@@aaanton11 the hoses seem to have pressure, I'm not very clued up on engines I take it this hose is the one that connects onto the metal tube that is around 3" wide and goes over the top where the oil dip stick is.goo.gl/images/o1eNrR this tube. As far as I can tell the hissing seems to be around the back of that nissan cover if that helps.

If it helps I had a friend come around who knows a bit about cars he said it seems the hissing noise is coming from the turbo, he does not think the turbo has gone as it's not smoking along with not losing coolant and there is not a noise like a whine coming from the turbo. My arse is falling out thinking it's a £1000 fix.

I've a 2011 J10 model and it's on its 4th pipe at this stage. First time around, Nissan fixed it and charged me two hundred quid. I soon found out that I could get this pipe online for 25 quid and have done the repair myself since. It's a stupid design flaw that Nissan should have addressed long ago.

I had this happen on my wifes qashqai last week,i wrapped duck tape and electrical tape around the broken part and zipped tied it,after doing this a red engine management light came up on the dash i plugged in an obd device and it told me i had an ash buildup on dpf,would you say the cracked air intake had anything to do with this at all,if you don't know then no worries ok..

Hey, i know this is a long one but I have a Nissan Sylphy 2006, and it does have a problem with power. First off, i do experience a delayed driving force when i step on the gas especially when the engine is hot and not in motion. This happens more so when a high torque is needed for the vehicle to move either foward or backwards. For instance when i come to a complete stop and i have to go over a bump or ramp of some sort, stepping on the gas wont make it go over immediately as i will have to deeply accelerate for a few seconds..say 7 sec..for it to even start moving. Its movement will be extremely slow until it gains momentum and after which everything works as its supposed to. Whilst all these happens, the rev conter on the dash stays stationery and does not act as though there’s any acceleration at all up until the vehicle moves. It wont rev on neutral too and the ”R” for reverse wont show on the dash board as it goes blank when being reversed. My Mech had to change the throttle sensor, had its transmission control unit replaced and also checked the exhaust system for any leakages but no show. I have constantly stayed dirty on it, moving shop to shop but it seems to prove a headache for everybody. Any help/suggestions will be highly appreciated

Now I don't know is it temporary cause i pushed car for longer at 100mph+ or i got dirty turbo. Dpf was once clogged and flushed by teraclean service years ago, probably 4-5. And my EML Bluetooth device reports damaged on phone, so I'm not sure if this is cause of not being able to reset that error. Going to shop today to get new OBDII and see if i can clear that error.

If the car was driven with a broken hose it will have been smoking heavily and possibly will have blocked the diesel particular filter you will need to carry out a regeneration and hopefully that will cure the problem Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Might be the DPF filter restricted due to the broken pipe, try and drive at 70mph for 30 minutes to allow to regenerate, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Thanks for this great video. Would this also cause the engine to completely shut down? My engine shuts down, then the Orange engine light comes on. I’ve taken it to Nissan about 4 times now and they can’t seem to find the problem. It’s really dangerous as it often does this randomly and without warning.... appreciate your help!

Yesterday i was driving my Nissan Qashqai 2008 suddenly the engine start kind of light noise and the engine and oil light turns on at the same time i drove the car around 80km to my house but the engine had no power after that noise in the morning i checked the engine oil the gage was completely dry i put some Engine oil around 5 litter to which shows the right gage and when i start the engine and drive the car was the same there's no Engine power hardly going to 80km/hr . i would,nt bother getting a new one looks like an easy enough job to do, as long as you take a good steady time to do a cracking job lol, you will be alright after all its just a piece of plastic, makes you wonder why on such parts they made it out of plastic for such a critical part or was it designed to fail for them to make more money. personally i would repair as you said and showed us and resin job done .... and no one is ever going to see it or most part most will never know....

Be sure the connections are all ok to the sensor, then use a code reader to delete the codes, it might settle down after a bit of use especially if the the pipe has been leaking for a while 👍🏻👍🏻

remove the system to function for the turbo filter , there is a cap that opens and closes .... make it always open , it gives way better performance and will solve your issue , because the cap is getting closed the turbo does not work properly and can damage up the car
