Refining it over time? More like letting it sit in the dust and make minimal changes on it. They already did that with the 350Z and the 370Z. If Porsche or Ferrari did that with any of their models and charge a higher price every year for an outdated car, people would eventually question their sanity and reputation.

I think you’re right about prices rising on these - the same has happened to be 350/370z as we’re not getting the 400z. I chopped in my Lotus Evora for a 2018 370z Nismo which I bought for £26k but sold for £30k 6 months later! I needed cash for stamp duty so found myself a stock low mileage 2004 350z which I had to pay nearly £10k for - nuts as only 4 years ago I bought one for £5k. Sporty Nissans that are unmolested are a sure fire investment I think. Love your videos mate👍

I think you are right about the values. Here in Australia you’re looking at between $500,000 and $669,000 for a 2017 or newer NISMO or T-Spec. The cheapest 2008 Premium GTR starts at $110,000, if you want a face lifted 2017 or newer they start at $300,000. To be honest at that money I can’t justify it - I’d rather have a Lambo or something. But then again, where would I put my guns?! 😂

@joelsmith93112 жыл бұрын
@@TheChannel1978 You might be right, but it’s not just the GTR35’s that are silly money these days. GTR34 V-Spec’s start at $250K and go up to $450K - they’ve got mileage on them too, and they sell. M-Spec’s start at $350K and top out at $480K. Remember that in Australia you also have to pay stamp duty on top - in NSW that’s a $14,100 tax for the privilege of buying a $300K second hand car, on top of the usual road taxes etc…. It’s crazy and I cannot understand how people afford it, but it’s happening. Maybe the bubble will burst, but manufacturers aren’t making too many more of these sorts of cars so the rarity will increase over time.

I had a 1989 R32 GTR Full Race a few years ago. I was happy to make a very substantial profit when I sold it. I had to sell it, purely because the thing was so ridiculously rapid that it was going to be a case of making the choice between risking my life on the track; my licence on the road; or just sit and look at its sheer beauty. I couldn't do the latter, not enough will-power; the other two weren't worth it; so it had to go. Having had dozens of fast classics over the decades, it was a surprisingly difficult decision, I loved that car! I've never liked the new ones, I know they're great cars, but I just can't get my little brain round the looks.

I've been saying for a while now that this is going to be a future classic. Not even the track edition or facelift, just the R35 alone. Being a younger enthusiast, I've been able to see the effect this thing had on the kids in lower grades back in school. The amount of kids who had an R35 as their phone background was insane, the overrated level of this car in it's prime was absolutely nuts and I don't think fast and furious or bathurst can even compare. At the very least, it's Ferrari 458 level of popularity, but very likely a lot more. I'm in the same boat. I really did not like this when it came out, but over the years it's really grown on me Jeremy Clarkson loved it when it came out, even more than it's predecessors, and that's often a pretty big factor. Add Nurburgring records into the mix and the same thing that made other cars go nuts, the tuning scene, and you've got a recipe for extreme covetedness This car is in that weird spot right now where it's not new but also not a classic either. There are a few reasons this car can't become a full on classic: lack of pedigree (group a madness), lack of engagement, lack of rarity (compared to predecessors). But If it can get past those, when people start caring about this car again, it's going to be nutsa

The R35 will be a classic I am sure of that, sadly probably more the NISMO model. But honestly Nissan didn't refine the R35 to perfection, they just let it get old... I was lucky enough to find one of the "Nismo Engineered" Track editions. Made in 2020 only and came with the 600hp Nismo engine and CCBs. Its basically a Nismo in sheep's clothing. I traded in my 2017 Premium for it and it is a completely different car. I called Nissan to run the VIN and get a number of how many they made. They made 26 for the US market. I asked how many of each 3 colors they made and they called back a week later and said they made 4 white ones like mine. They didn't give me the numbers for red and black as they assumed I only cared about the white one. Anyways I just uploaded a video of mine at the dyno, and it made way more than 600hp. Did the baseline dyno video of it before I start modifying it here shortly.

Probably the most likely of the GT-Rs to become a future classic... Except for maybe the Nismos, although they're already commanding a premium. I'd say mostly because, of all the GT-Rs, it's least likely to be used on the road much (if at all), so the milage should stay pretty low and you'd have to be an absolute moron to modify it, so they should stay mostly stock. Finding a low miles, unmodified R35 is gonna be a challenge, just as is the case with most JDM cars.

dunno if you really tried it on the track? all GTRs I have driven - they are too heavy, 55% weight on the front, they can only go straight - they do not turn.

As a car that brought in monster horsepower for more modest sums of money. But a car that hung around too long, and essentially unchanged. Such that BMW and Audi etc then surpassed it. And forget about Porsche, if you could afford a 911 turbo you never seriously looked at a GTR Nismo. (Only young lads on a playstation did that).

In 2007 the r35 was the bomb, in 2022 it would still be the bomb if the price was the same but instead the price tripled...

If you want a mental car for your guns, surely a ZR1 Corvette or a Hellcat is the natural choice.

If Darth Vader owned a GT it would be this car, but in black!

How does a Rolls Royce not have an "x factor" but this does? A GT-R is a stellar car but the exact opposite of special, and special is what a Rolls Royce is.

It's different things to different people but just look at a 90s Rolls and a 90s Japanese sports car - the one which cost 10x more new is now cheaper...
