I have a 2008 4 wheel drive Rogue with a broken rear end. Can I just take out the drive shaft, differential, and rear axels to make it a 2 wheel front drive SUV?

The car probably won’t move since the torque sent to front and rear is computer controlled. I once disconnected the driveshaft I was replacing (to the rear) on a vw Touareg and the truck moved for a minute then acted like the transmission was slipping hence had to push it back into the garage.
