My daughter and I have been studying these videos and yours Whitney; especially was most excellent. My daughter 24, was able to complete this mission in about 4 hours as my 52 yr old meatcage would of landed a bad shoulder to dislocate. I’m so proud of her and grateful. Thank you for all the comments as well.

Thank you for showing me to remove the arm bracket that sticks out. I should of done that at the beginning. Would of saved me a lot more time. It was only 2 more screws to not struggle with the blower motor, inhale burnt blower motor dust. Taking a break right now before i install the new blower motor. Removed the bracket before i installed the new one so i dont risk damaging the fins. Everything else was piece of cake.

Man I am super happy found this video. The mechanic had car all day. Didn't fix anything. Said he needs it for 7 hours Mon an Tues and it would be $1000 max. I found both parts $200 new. People suck. If he'd just been reasonable he would have done it today for say $500 and made a good profit... He can pound salt I am doing it THANKS BIG TIME BROTHER
@bobbyd6680 Жыл бұрын
Depends on what your time is worth. Reasonable shop labor is about $50.00/hr depending on location. My time (before I retired) would be about $45-50. $1000 would be "a bit" over the top, and I sure wouldn't pay that either. Then they tend to double or triple the retail price if you bought the parts online, even though they buy the parts at wholesale. 7 hours labor is triple what a DIYer can do it in. The blower has been as low as $40 on Amazon Warehouse Deals. So, I wouldn't pay someone more than $300 and only if I didn't what to deal with the hassle. Yeah, people do suck, and many of the independent shops I've dealt with have a freaking take it or leave it attitude.

I followed your explanations exactly and I managed to change the fan. Your video was very very helpful and thank you for that. I didn't buy the part right away because I didn't know if the fault was the motor, I did all the electrical tests first then I disassembled and tested the fan. I had confirmation that it was indeed the motor that was defective and I ordered. Thanks again for your video.😃

Whitney, I just went through this process and your video was a great help. I'd like to add one step that makes getting the steel U shaped bracket off much easier. Remove the vinyl covering on the bottom of the steering wheel. It's held on by 3 phillips screws. Once this is out of the way, you can use a deep well 10MM socket with a 1/4 drive universal behind it with a 6" extension and get to the upper nut on the bracket very easily. Once I figured this out I got the nut off in just a few seconds.

2010 rogue with no blower action. Thanks for sharing this. I wanted to see what was involved. I swear engineers should be forced to service their so-called design marvels before a vehicle is allowed to be sold. I'd be willing to bet "modular" assemblies would be a lot less difficult if so. Good video. Cheers!

Just did a 2009 Nissan Rogue. Swivel 10mm socket helped with the top of that bracket to the right of the steering wheel. My bottom vent is different; I would need to remove additional panels to remove it entirely. Everything else was the same, but I'm now dealing with a check engine light after I reassmebled everything. Thanks for the video!

I would like to point out the finned box is not a resister bank . It is a little controller (which replaces a resistor .. with a transistor (a Field effect power transistor to be precise). it is controlled by the operator speed control and is continuously variable. You have idea though, & your video helped me a lot. idiot is too polite a work for the people who made that fan nearly impossible to remove.

This shld b good for 08 (1st yr of production) to '13. Had heck of a time with upper support bolt and reinstall brake clip, liked the support bracket reinstall recomm, lol. ALSO, no screw in my original Nissan blower! Found one, that threaded ar least part way, ha. Finally, resistor off of Amazon looks better than original, had a gasket and 1/4 the cost! New blower in, but seemed slightly shorter than original and is slightly less powerful. PS. Mine doesn't even have that steering column cover, wth? lol.
@voiceofreality97413 жыл бұрын
The part is 15 bucks on amazon- the blower is 40. It will rake a novice a full day with a myriad of 1/4 and 3/8 extensions and a Philips #2 stubby and 4".. It is a exercise in YOUR flexibility an patience value.. Be patient and save 700 bucks vs a dealer..

FYI: if you have a 2009 Rogue the heater vent has TWO screws holding it on....this video shows that you remove the one screw and wiggle it off....that is not the case with my 2009. The vent has a longer arm/edge on the front part (kind of behind the air controls)...it is very tough to get to...if you didnt know it was there and keep trying to pull it off like in the video it will never come off unless you really pull and the whole arm breaks. I have small enough hands I was able to wiggle up through the bottom of the center console (drivers side panel) and just feel my way around and take out the Philips screw...just wanted to try to solve at least someone else's pain and frustration if your vent wont come out easy like in this video

I've replaced the motor twice now because lack of airflow! Think the resistor might be the problem? Hearing different tones/sounds coming from the blower motor on the same fan speed. Or did I fail if there is smal vibrations on the higher fan speeds?

Great video! My car's symptom is that the fan will be completely off sometimes... then pop on. There's no fan noise and it blows silently and well when it's blowing. Do you think that resistor is actually a relay too? There are no cab fan relays sold for the 2010 rogue. Strange eh? Appreciate the help

Sadly, I also own a 2011 Rouge, I have spent 1/2 of what I paid for it in repairs, transmission, both axles, catalytic converter, multiple oxygen sensors (more than once), Mass flow sensor, and the list goes on. This week my resistor went bad, and a new check engine light for a vacuum leak, I'm currently getting 13 mpg. My wife's 2017 Sentra had 28,000 miles when the transmission was replaced on it. Nissan does not build quality cars anymore. They are a far cry from my 86 Hardbody truck which had over 300,000 and only had to replace a $50 pulley the entire time I owned it. I only bought Nissan's for the past 30 years, but there will never be another one sitting in my driveway when I dump the two that I have.

Good video,but i have 1 question for you.Can it br done with only removing the air-duck and bracket only or do i need to remove brake & gas pedal too.
@TortureBot3 ай бұрын
I'm in the middle of doing this on a 2011 model. I don't see how you could do it without removing the pedal assembly. That bracket to the right up above the pedals definitely has to come out or you can't even get the pedals out. They make the back of that bracket intertwine with the top of the pedal assembly so it is impossible to get out without removing the bracket. I don't think you have room to get that blower past the gas pedal if you don't remove the full assembly.

Just fought with the bracket on this for over an hour and couldn't get it off - how did you setup your 10mm socket and adapter to allow you to use the wrench? I can't make it out in the video, it almost looks like the socket is connected to the wrong end of the extension rod...
@TortureBot3 ай бұрын
Before seeing his trick and reading how another person took the plastic off the bottom of the steering wheel to reach it with a similar setup, I watched a video that said use a wobble adapter to get at it with an extension, ratchet, and socket. My wife is on her way home now with a wobble adapter, and I hope that reaches that damned nut.
