I never thought of squeezing the piston back in before removing the caliper, that's genius! I use the same C-clamp on almost all cars, but usually take the caliper off first and use the old brake pads while awkwardly holding the caliper as I squeeze the piston back in.
@thereckchanic47092 жыл бұрын
Wow, I noticed you didn’t even cleaned and greased the caliper guides . Also , a little hi temp brake grease on those siding brake hardwares help those pads slide in and out easily. Thanks for your video

Great video thanks for posting. This Nissan brake design is superior to all the others I have seen because its not only super easy to fix but also the springs that pull the pad off the brake disk when the brakes arent in use will reduce pad wear and even save some gas because the pads dont float on the disk while you arent using the brakes. In general the 2015 style Rogue is a reliable and easy to work on SUV.

Ok I see your process and it's interseting. However the caliper mounting bracket needs to be disconnected from the caliper as well. Small rubber boots need replaced and re greasing the slides is required too. This will keep the caliper sliding smoothly in and out with no sticking.

I was pushing back the brake piston so the new rotors and pads can fit when changing brakes that is a must or else the new parts wont fit
@andygold3 жыл бұрын
And make sure you keep an eye out at your brake fluid reservoir by the master cylinder under the hood. If you've been adding fluid as your brakes have worn down, you will now have too much fluid in the reservoir when you push the brake Pistons back into the caliper, which will make the fluid overflow. You may have to remove some fluid from the reservoir so it won't overflow.

I like how you did this..question..How come you didn't check and lube up the caliper pins? Every video I have seen on brakes people always do this... I also see you didn't provide any lube or anti seize on the pad notch groves... Just curious as to why? Your way is a lot faster if you don't need to take out any of the hardware to clean that's for sure!
@DULLAHGOSOHARD4 жыл бұрын
Puting lube or anti seize on the pad notch is not good because those thing attract alot of dirt and small stones and that's not good for your brakes the only place should get grease is the sliding pins if they need it
