If you turn the wheel so that the front of the rotor is facing outward you can get more leverage on the breaker bar and the mounting bracket bolts come loose much easier.

Your Pad hardware didn't have springs with them that go on the end of the clips? Another video I saw showed these and the pads top and bottom notched right into them..Thus pushing the pads away from the rotor when brake not being pressed.

That is one of the differences between the 2012 Nissan Rogue and the Nissan Rogue Select.. Furthermore, a 2012 model year is not a Select. The select was produced for just 2 years in 2014-15. In 2016, the Rogue Select was no longer being manufactured.

Thanks for the video! Newbie question: if the whole caliper/piston easily slides off, why do you have to recompress the piston as far as you did?
@CharlesAndCars4 жыл бұрын
It needs to be recompressed so the new brake pads will fit around the rotor... They're going to be thicker than the ones coming off.

Nice quality gloves that tear with every use.

Yep, I've moved to using latex gloves instead of nitrile. I find they just do better.

How do you check the reservoir for fluid ? Where the brake fluid is? If it’s low I’m okay, I’m a newbie and if I sound a bit stupid, sorry!

What kind of grease did you brush on the hub? Can u use the Permatex silicone or ceramic for that hub too? How about white lithium or black grease?
@CharlesAndCars3 жыл бұрын
You can use brake grease or wheel bearing grease.

@CharlesAndCars3 жыл бұрын
Blue threadlocker on the bracket bolts (medium strength). None on the pin bolts.

Does anyone know what the 2 different sizes (overall rotor diameter) of brake rotors are and their specific applications for the 2016 Rogues? I'm guessing the difference is for whether you have 2 rows of seats versus 3 rows of seats? I need to order front and rear pads and rotors for my 2016 Rogue and my local parts dealer wants to know what size (diameter) my front rotors are as there are 2 sizes available for the model year. Help?
@CharlesAndCars3 жыл бұрын
Looks like there's an 11.65 and an 12.6" version. I'm seeing the 12.6 for the 3 row seating and 11.65 for the 2 row seating. Best would be just to measure what you have.
@andygold3 жыл бұрын
Charles is correct. The larger rotors are for the 3 row Rogue.

wow most mechanics don't do any of the additional maintenance on brakes. they usually only remove the calipers and pop in the pads.
@CharlesAndCars4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, some don't but the additional "small" things make a big difference in the life/performance of brakes.
@asadb19904 жыл бұрын
@@CharlesAndCars i agree 100%. i have had in the past had to do the little things myself because my brakes would start making noise after a few months. i now try to do as much of the maintenance myself as possible.

Some Technicians don't bother to do their jobs as Safety advisors. I have seen the laziness of some Technicians for years. I say that as a Senior Master Technician with 35 years experience.
