I have a 94 r32 gtr. I removed mine when I bought It and I have done 60k spirited drives. No issues. Normal services. Drag races and track. So far so good. Good luck

I'm surprised anyone would leave the restrictor in. Unless they put it back before reselling it to make it appear like it was driven "slowly"

My guess would be a vacuum leak somewhere. I’d start with the intercooler piping and check all vacuum lines to the solenoid

I have a stock 95 vspec. Do I need to consider anything like over boost occurring or a anything else really? My first turbo car.

2ten81 Nope won’t be an issue! ECU will adjust to the boost. Car runs pretty rich from the factory

Nica car man, are you aware that if you follow that yellow banded hose with the pill down towards the firewall below the collector, you will see it splits into 2 hoses and one of the hoses has another pill and yellow band on it also? I have a vid of it in my channel. I seen the hose when I was replacing the paper gaskets for the collector (intake) plenum. I have not been able to find out if removing that pill will also add boost or not, at the time I did the repair I did not want to take a chance and remove it to then have to place it back in case of an overboost, 1 bar and up just kills the ceramic turbos. Let me know what you think, maybe someone you know may have info on it. Thumbs up.

I found when i done this it would boost up how it should without the restrictor but sometimes it would boost back to stock.

Captain Two6 lol i know it was strange. Na not yet dude, im going to book it in for next week to get it sorted. Iv just lost interest on working on it. For somthing i dont hardly drive and all the cash invested in it. Just for a turbo to let go after around 7,000km old and have to spend more money on it to still just be a garage queen really tipped me over the edge with it fam.

But Nissan lied about the power output of the skyline GTR which really made closer to 310hp don’t remember the exact number but I do know it’s well above 276 hp but yee

I never got a chance to do this on my R33. I blew the motor and started the RB30 swap, while I was doing the research for the RB30 I found this hack out smh.

Well you are missing a faster turbo spool time from the higher rpm. Doesnt matter for drag but the rb30 was available to nissan and they didnt use it, must have played with the center of gravity, weight distribution and not suited the track as well. They also rated them as not really a competing motor but a towing family option (I just wonder what they were thinking with that one). Perfect for drag and dynos though with the extra displacement! What do you think mate?
