Nissan xterra fuel tank

Fuel tank had lots of rust, dirt and water in it. The oring was not installed properly. I got a new one from oriley auto parts $15. I was going to get one from the wrecking yard but decided not because it may be just as rusty as this one sitting for years in a wrecking yard. What I did was cleaned this one up pretty good and installed it. I bypassed the origional filter by removing it and connecting the existing hose straight thru. I got a marine filter kit from Academy $35, and installed that in line under the hood. A new tank was $250 plus shipping from rockauto.

Is there direct access to the fuel pump thru the backseat like this on the 2005 XTerra?

I replaced the fuel pump in my 2002. Xterra. Put everything together & no fuel being pumped. I hear it running, but no fuel. ???? WTF ?

Maybe it's wired backwards.

Thought so too. Plug in. Would have to be a factory mistake. Be the fourth thing I got that was bad out of the box from Rockauto.

Hi. I am replacing my fuel tank because that nipple on the top rusted away for the evap system I think? Anyway, how did you source the new fuel hoses? There are 4 or five in total. Did you buy them pre cut from Nissan or did you just get them from the auto parts store? If so do you know what sizes each hoses were? Thanks. I’m referring to the ones you cut.

5/16 Gates 27093 submersible fuel hose. This hose is required for in tank use.

Spectra Premium FNH220 from the Rockauto parts catalog. I did not replace that hose. You can also get that part number from the nissan dealer with your vin number.
