great video. Will assume the bypass valve does exactly that. Did not hear if there is any thermal activation or if system is totally free flow. You could tell your video editor the music is totally unecessary (and irritatingly loud). Anyone who's going to sit through a 23 min vido on how to RnR a tranny cooler isn't looking to listen to high low music IMO. Thanks for the video

Is there another location for the heat exchanger that doesn't block off the factory radiator?

Works perfectly up front and is by far the best place for the oil cooler to be installed. We thoroughly test how the oil cooler effects all other coolers during testing.

Thanks Greg, is the installation the same or similar for the Navara? In that your cooler kit in an add on to the original auto cooler.

Yes that is correct, In the case of the Nissan Patrol we will always still run though the original oil cooler then though the new axillary cooler..

When should the bypass oil coolers be checked

Do you mean cooler or bypass valve? You don't normally check either but we have found a few thermal valves that have seized so we replaced the thermal valve with a bypass every chance we get. They also come with our cooler kits now as it is the perfect time to install them.

You wont need to remove and check but you would certainly check for oil leaks each transmission service.
