Hi how are Guys doing? I have a problem with my 2008 BMW 528i Transmission it acting up when I stop it gives a grinding noise and slip into park and when reverse it slip out multiple times in to park what could be the cause , please can you tell me what could be the cause. ,

Always an interesting topic. My 22 Triton comes with a cooler from the factory. I believe you can add an additional cooler from Wholesale Autos as well. Anyway, biggest thing for me was getting an obd2 reader and setting up my phone to display the ATF temps, along with other useful metrics. Being able to visibly see what my temps are and how conditions effect the temps was a real eye opener for me. It's changed the way I drive. Love these videos too guys. So helpful to get an insight into the auto transmissions. Thanks

Funny how this is coming up on my feed now since theres a class action lawsuit underway against holden for the 6 speed autos in commodores and colorados, the 6L80 6L50 6L45. The one being torn down in the video looks like a alloytec bellhousing but with a transfer case compatible extention housing and deep pan. Maybe they have the same bellhousing pattern between the v6 and the 2.8 diesel

Interesting. I have a 2017 MY18 Z71 that I bought second hand in 2022 with ~93k on the clock. When I took it for a test drive I noticed a bit of shudder - the dealership confirmed it and they were happy to replace the TC as part of the condition of sale. It now has about 124k on it and I've noticed it is starting to get clunky at the gear change around 60kph, but also the shudder at high speed downshifts seems to be returning as well. Getting the shudder back again just 30k after a TC replacement seems ridiculous. And of course the extended warranty period ended in November too. :(

Great videos, I have one of your coolers on the way. I bought an ex main roads Colorado with 170k on it. It has a minor shudder going down the highway at about 95km/hr. I tried a tube of Lubeguard instant shudder fix, and even though I only got 80% of the tube in there through the fluid level check plug it has become much much better( yeah yeah I know) the oil looks pretty dark too. From what I understand it was serviced 50k ago. Once the cooler arrives I will do a proper oil and filter change and whack 2 tubes of lube guard in with some more appropriate fluid and hope it goes away completely. I’m curious how much a basic rebuild would cost on a modern auto transmission to fix this specific problem?
