I just have sorted out a low boost problem on a Navara. It turned out that the rubber vacuum hose from the vacuum pump to the little steel pipe that goes across the top of the engine had perished. So make sure you have vacuum to the boost sensor with the motor running before you go pulling everything apart. It's the one on the very end.

@@bountyhunter1890 No, It was just gutless as the wastegate was open all the time. The vacuum closes it, directing the boost to the intake manifold. If it cuts out it's a fuel problem. Also check the wiring to the fuel shutoff solenoid.

@tazman8697 thanks for the reply I had the same problem with that pipe but it was cutting out and no power and smoke fixed it and went great for about 3 weeks then yesterday it cut out and smoking again just like before but pipe is fine. Thought maybe the turbo vaccum selanoid?

@@bountyhunter1890 You should see the wastegate arm move when you rev the motor... If it doesn't, check back from there...

@tazman8697 That’s the thing it will not rev ither only sometimes just smokes. And sometimes revs to 3k others times just sits rough idling. But that is a good idea will start at the gate.

Hey guys . Enjoy your channel 🤙. I have a 2008 d22 Nissan navara 2.5 liter with the yd 25 engine. Driving home from work today I pulled away from a set of lights. Had a complete loss of power. Thought it was the turbo but after taking the turbo out the hoses are all good and the rotor spins freely. Any idea what it could be? Cheers.

Hi I from Costa Rica I have nissan navara 2012 yd 25ddti automatic transmission the issue is when you go at high altitude on 3rd gear climbing a road, the car don t change gear for more power and don t rev up more then 3000 rpm, the turbo blows but its not enough to get more speed and power. The car is not on limp mode. Thanks.

Right checked boost blows your hand off pipe and hand scv fitted and programed larst week still got same problem no throttle response intermittent fault eney ideas 2010 model

Isn't that the boost control solenoid? The boost sensor is located on the drivers side of the intercooler on the top?

Cameron Clarke Exactly, as far as I Know, this controls the turbo boost because it moves the wastegate... I think he is wrong, the boost sensor is in intercooler

Rafael Ponce you’re partially correct. These turbos don’t have a wastegate. They are a VGT (variable geometry turbo). Basically they have a bunch of fins that direct exhaust towards or away from the turbine, therefore controlling the boost pressure.

hey guys love your videos!! all the way from Perth Western Australia. I have a boost problem. I have changed my wastegate on Thai yd25 2011 d40 and the rod on wastegate actuator keeps going up and down. Have done this test on hot intake pipe and boost seems to be working okay in idle but the problem really shows itself under load. any help would be awesome as last mechanic thought it was clutch and she was on her way out but got home after install and saw spring rod flickering. I have a sluggish 2007 D40 and had the symptoms you explained. I have swapped my turbo booze sensor however still no turbo when driving and inlet pipe still sucking in. Any ideas guys?

Changed the boost sensor on my pathfinder, at idle the actuator does not pulse. Hooked up a vacuum gauge , it just stands at 20”hg vac. Checked the signal wire coming from the ECU , it stands up @ 6.5v. Any suggestions anyone ? Really not sure what to check again....

I have a Nissan juke 2013 and it is having the same problem sluggish but will eventually speed up and run. Challenge was getting off the highway when it was sluggish. We had to take some back roads and drive slow to get it back home. Now we are not sure what to do. We are giving it the test you mentioned and we will replace it. Getting a price for it right now. Do you have a plan B if this does not work? Thanks

That's not even a sensor ! It's boost control solenoid. Boost sensor is on the cooler side of the intercooler.

Hi my D40 2007 has mechanical throttle body and two solenoids a boost solenoid on one side and the other similar one on the other side ,they are both new and just rebuild the engine with every part from bottom up and I'm stuck with reconnecting the vacuum lines as i bought the vehicle with incomplete engine without them to rebuild.Engine is running very smooth but dont boost .The engine has EGR blocked off already pipe removed and manifold modified.May you or anyone please advise beginning from vacuum pump how the vacuum pipes should be connected to both the 1st splitter plate to 1st the regulator solenoid to 2nd splitter plate to throttle body to over the engine to turbo boost solenoid to air intake and to turbo. It tried using the popular diagrams on the internet the engine start smoking heavily then took it off.

Hi mate I have a Nissan navarra stx 2007 Spain yd25 I paid $11000 for a reconditioned motor and very sure it not ivhad nothing but problems with it it keeps blowing white blue smoke it smells like a major fueling problem but not sure I changed The boost solarnoid for a new one it worked go for two days and shhit it Self I put a new Turbo on the other day and I'm still having the same problem and it sounds like I have a blow off Vale for some reason If you could help much apprecreated Thanks mate ben

Try the Fuel Suction Control valve. Mine did that a couple of times, I had to reset the ECU to regain power, lately it just given all up I did a new FSCV I was sorted

I have the P012B code which says that the inlet pressure boost gauge is faulty. And the truck goes into limp mode. Will it be the boost gauge or the solenoid?

I had the air filter clogged for 2 weeks, then when I noticed and changed for a new one. The engine module has a memory with learning, so with a advanced tune. The engine learning was reseted and everything was like new

left to right, 1. Air intake (after MAF Sensor) 2. Turbo 3. Vacuum line to fuel pump.

whistling noise is air escaping. usually its at one of the connections after the turbo, check the connections to and from the intercooler, look for any visible signs of oil.
