Fun fact: the music was actually made by the same composer from the show and the script was also written by one of the writers of the show, the same one that wrote the original special in fact, which is something none of the previous games had so i guess that helps explain why it feels so much more faithful.

In regards to Cindy's design, the simplest explanation would be that, instead of making entirely new models for the game, they just reused the ones from the movie game and upscaled them. Basically, they didn't have the time or budget to make a new model for Cindy and went with what they already had.
@brandonlyon7303 жыл бұрын
They did for Libby though.
@Saltedroastedcaramel3 жыл бұрын
Even in the Nicktoons unite games they still used her movie design until maybe Globs of Doom
@BostonianJake2 жыл бұрын
Cindy's old movie design was in multiple games, some with higher quality models, lower quality models, or just sprite work. I think it's just a matter of outdated design documents the developers receive during preproduction. The character models for the movie game and AotT have very different styles and poly counts. The eyebrows in AotT are modeled, while it looks like they're a flat texture in the movie game. There's also the fact the AotT models have rigs for eye and mouth movements, whereas the movie game models were static.

It's not often we are graced with a licensed game that truly understands and respects the source material it's being based off of, and this is no exception, and the vast amount of one-off inventions the player can make is a nice touch, even if they are sometimes both limited and situational, they really went for more of a quantity over quality for the inventions for the game. Also, this isn't necessarily related to the video, but seeing that purple GameCube upon putting the disc in really makes me more interested in getting a purple variant that I already have been, I'm tired of having all my gaming consoles be a somewhat generic black color.
@WhimsicottFanatic3 жыл бұрын
Honestly, the whole habit of sleek, black, professional-looking consoles has always been a bit boring, and it's kinda funny that, at the very least, Sony is _very slightly_ stepping away from it with the PS5 bein' a Seto Kaiba lookin'-ass And I guess there's ⭐Special Edition⭐ consoles too, but typically those don't [or rather, really shouldn't] appeal to anyone who already owns the system Which makes me think of how funny it is that Nintendo, while it has a habit of being somewhat laughable with the strength of its hardware [and its public relations], almost always seems to be good about breaking the mold with the design of its systems Like, you compare the N64, Gamecube, Wii, and Switch to its competition and they really stand out, to the point that, while all the ones whose names don't start with a W were never really the best-sellers, they're sure to not be forgotten And then there's the WiiU, that will only be remembered for failure, I fear the day I become one

Yeah, generally when a game that's based on a special episode of a series, the game starts preproduction roughly around the same time the episode starts preproduction. Team usually gets a rough summary of what the episode is about and general assets and such from the series as a whole. Then as the episode goes through production, the team gets more and more info as the episode gets set in stone. Still doesn't explain why Cindy is based on her movie model though, series already had 2 seasons and multiple games. Don't know how that kept getting lost in translation.

Tips on the bosses here: Playground- Use the teetertotters to launch the super invention into its head. Frozen Lake- Launch the pucks at the barrier and burn both its feet to make it fall, then shoot its face. Rollercoaster- IDK, try getting directly under it. Played this game as a kid and loved it.

Those announcements of each level remind me of the intros for the shorts that were made to promote the movie, like Cookie Time or Hyper Corn! I bet it was fun for Hugh's voice actor to be the narrator again for a game.

This game was so much fun when i was a kid, i really hope that nickelodeon allows for a remaster of this game. It was made by THQ and THQNordic have been pretty competant with their remakes, so it’s be cool for them to do it. And considering that the show was literally made with prerendered materials, they could probably make it look exactly like the actual show.

4:00 Holy shit, I played that game! It was really fucking weird, it was a party game but, because Megamind doesn't really have enough characters for that, they just added a bunch brand new villains characters

Just beat this game a few days ago and I never even knew about the spin jump, lol. And for the monkey on the ceiling fan part, I probably spent 30 minutes thinking some special gadget or invention was needed to get the him off the fan just to see the button on the wall lol. Overall great game though, I really enjoyed it

YES! Been waiting for this review since this was the one I played as a kid. Looking back and seeing your other Jimmy Neutron vids, I feel pretty lucky I grew up with this one.

25:50 I love the attention in the animation that looks like the pose Jimmy does when he’s explaining something I think in the show if that’s what he’s doing in that scene amazing

i remember seeing the special on tv and didnt know there was a game till i woke up Christmas. always loved the game. but i also remember the twonkies hung around in regular episodes. u could see them hiding in shelves or say good bye at an end of an episode, i think there was one with jimmy and cindy when they were stranded on that island together too. so many good memories growing up but i also know that the shows animation was practically held together with duct tape it did not age well xD

Honestly, if they made a modern Jimmy Neutron game in a similar style to Ratchet & Clank I would be all over it. Lmao

Man, while I didn't watch Jimmy Neutron all that much when compared to other shows, it was one show I always loved to watch! Seeing a kid making all these inventions, like the gummies that make you super smart on a specific subject, or the robo-salesman, or a day rewinder so that every day would be his birthday, or when he was building a ton of toys to keep his dad on a job so they don't have to move away, it was a really cool and creative show! All the characters were either weird or funny or interesting in their own way, and the entire town was full of interesting places... though the concept of exploring Retroville in a video game never came to my mind. I was still unaware of the concept of licensed video games. Never really saw the specials... But I do remember having watched the movie... on a rented DVD even, I think! Aw man, rental stores, there was one that was really close to my home, our go-to place for renting cool movies and stuff... but the place closed down about 10 years ago.
