As others have suggested, I think it was a missed opportunity. if this game were a more tongue in cheek adventure about Bubsy trying to reclaim his "glory" and realizing he just can't compete with the bigger named franchises, I think it could have been great. Maybe even do a Wreck it Ralph sort of thing and have him explore the "backstage" areas of other game types, almost like it's a hollywood of games. I know that Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard did something similar. I think Bubsy should have tried something like that.

I'll actually love a new Bubsy game in this direction if the future games' biggest joke and running gag is that there are things in the game that make it seem that even the DEVELOPERS think Bubsy is the most annoying and aggravating thing in existence, to the point of that possibly being considered a weapon. Hell, a cool idea for a boss fight would against a super-intelligent computer that you can't hurt at all, but all you have to do beat it is by cranking the verbosity up to the max, which after a couple minutes of Bubsy's motor-mouthing and avoiding attacks would trigger a cutscene where the computer goes all "I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! JUST SHUT UP! *SHUT UP!"*, overloads, and then explodes.

Hi and greetings from the composer of this game! I don't know why some people hate on the Bubsy series. I liked both games on the SNES, and the original music is great. I did the music for "Bubsy The Woolies Strike Back" and I worked hard on the soundtrack to make it sound good. The game itself isn't as bad as some people say. Bubsy 3D made the series infamous. The 2D platformers aren't that bad and I sometimes still go back to them because they do have a weird charm. Woolies Strike Back was a nice platformer, the biggest criticism to me is that it's too short for the original price tag, but I got it on sale and enjoyed it.

Just as much as seeing it on the shelf, it really seals the deal to see the Accolade logo. A lot of times you see reboots of old classics whose original creators have long been out of business and it's a new game released by whoever ended up with the rights to the property. And they just on and on made every single thing about the game negative, without making any comparisons to the previous games or even really going into logical detail of why something didn't work. Like the voice slider - it ends on Bubsy? That's hilarious! I laughed out loud! But it just made them mad. Not to mention the fact that you and I shared almost the exact same childhood from your stories, video game wise, you cover platformers, horror games, and RPGS, which are all three my favorite games to play anyway, and all in all you are just a hilarious delight to listen to. i think one of the factors that made bubsy return was also that around 2015/2016 sonic forces was announced and they showed the siluete of the custom character and that siluete that looked similar to bubsy, so everyone of course lost their shit because of it.

Really disagree with the presentation here, most of the art looks super generic and bland, almost like one of those average Saturday Morning Cartoons you occasionally look at that appear before/after another animated show that looks and sounds way better. In fact, based on the footage alone, that's probably what this new Bubsy game is: an average game that was placed between two big franchises people look forward to the most.

I actually quite like the 2D Art, but the 3D environments do look very, very generic. The whole thing kind of has an almost "Unity" vibe to it.

Even though those games weren't too good, Bubsy as character is much more memorable than Mario or Sonic - to me, of course . It might sound silly, but I really like him.
