..hello- I specifically love your instruction! My dad , who is a retired Detroit firefighter, taught me how to swim when I was a child. Now that I am a mother of an autistic daughter, I am training her. It’s through your videos that she is learning also! We binge watch. Thank you for what you do; we’re both grateful. 🎉❤

I have swim lessons today....and I've been having the hardest time breathing out under water through my nose. I'll try to incorporate some of these tips in my lesson today. Thanks!

I'm glad you found the tips helpful! Breathing out through your nose can be tricky at first, but with practice, it gets easier. Good luck with your lesson today, and don't hesitate to take it slow. You've got this!

Breathing is the hardest part of swimming. I've been learning all the techniques with rocket swimming, but breathing is my challenge. I have learned to swim so much with you.

Hey Jonny, Great videos, you really make the newcomers feel comfortable and safe and give valuable tips. 2 weeks back i started learning swimming at 36 :) getting the feel of water but only issue now is to be able to get my head above water to breathe without using a kickboard, i practice flutter kicks by holding the steps of the pool and i seem to get the rhythm but when i use a kickboard, its not as hard and fixed as the steps the pool and i lose control over my legs and cant control them as much , but i can somehow lift my head to breathe but without a kickboard its a challenge to be able to breathe while flutter kicking as head does not lift enough above water, my instructor stands outside the pool and instructs me, never gets into the pool and i checked here, thats how they teach almost everyone

That's awesome that you're starting your swimming journey at 36! It's never too late to learn. Here are a few tips that might help regarding your head not lifting enough above the water: 1: A strong core will help you maintain a good body position and lift your head. Try doing some core exercises on land to strengthen your muscles. 2: Try adjusting your body position slightly. For example, you might need to tilt your head back a little more or arch your back slightly. Remember, it takes time and practice to master breathing while swimming. Don't get discouraged if it's challenging at first. Keep practicing, and you'll eventually get the hang of it.

Really blessed to have you here!!! I was facing an extreme problem with my side breathing which i got myself trained after watching all the drills from a previous video which you had taken lots of effort with a beginner accompanying you!!! Your part by part explanation & soothing voice makes it more easier. You make it easy mann!!! Keep up the good work & stay in contact!!! There is more to learn from you, i would place some of my doubts of mine which are very crucial & i am not getting a specific video covering that particular problem of mine so i would hope that you would help me out!!!! Tysm😊

@@RocketSwimming tysm for the reply....!!! I am facing a confined issue with using of flip turns in my swimming At present, i occlude my nostrils with my upper lip with minimal exhalation to conserve oxygen & air in my lungs but by the time i reach the wall to which i had taken a breath before hand at a definite distance away from the wall where at time of turn i exhale & feel as if i have lost my all oxygen & its suffocating Though i have performed it successfully several times but still not confident & for sure my flip turn is slower & time taking when compared to open turn. There are many more things but this was best i could explain my problem & rest you are expert in this hence i ask for your help....!!!! Tysm

So do we spit out water when turning our heads when doing freestyle strokes? Spit and breathe 😮?
@RocketSwimming4 ай бұрын
Spitting is to blow out any water that is on your lips and mouth so that when you take a breath, there will be no water to go inside.

today i started my first session in swimming, my friend told me to be patient with it and build a relation with water to be able to learn quickly, is that true, and is fear is a normal thing at first ?
@soldieroftruth775 ай бұрын
100%. Half of it is mental. The other half is technique
@wolley215 ай бұрын
Yes, it's a process. Just enjoy and relax. I just finished my swimming lessons, what helped me is going swimming even though I don't have swimming lessons session.
@RocketSwimming5 ай бұрын
Absolutely, building a relationship with the water is key to feeling comfortable and learning more quickly. It’s perfectly normal to feel some fear at first; many people do. Just take your time, be patient with yourself, and practice regularly. With each session, you’ll gain more confidence. If you have any questions or need advice, I’m here to help!

I'm age 63, right handed, and learning to swim freestyle. I'm fine on my right, but I can't seem to lift/stroke with left arm. Any suggestions?

You need to try out hand lead drills to isolate your left arm/side. Please watch kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKLFZJWko8ZlZ80si=-eGj0q6wm1oDB37Q&t=2409
