Pussycat has to be the most original robot in this series (as Cassius was in the last one). Its roly-poly impossible-to-knock-over shape performed exactly as intended and it has the speed and manouvreability to take on any other bot. Its weapon was only so-so (never mind all the BS about whether it was hardened or not), but it was equally as useful as a pushbot.

Why just one blade allowed?
@PredictedCyborg5 жыл бұрын
It's not that only one blade was allowed - JP was just scripted to pretend not to know what was going to happen. One of the team members told the story - there was a gap of three days in between the filming of rounds and the team went home. They decided to switch out the blade and so chose one hanging from the wall of the workshop, one that was designed to spin at a much lower RPM than Pussycat's blade did. Basically, the hardened blades aren't made to spin at such speeds and cut things so it shattered - and THAT is why they were banned. People complain that it didn't end up hurting anyone, but they couldn't make an exception, and behind the scenes of the Third Wars is when the incidents happened that hurt people and ramped up safety procedures so Mentorn at the time was in full on "we can't let ANYTHING slip!" mode. Go look at the RW Wiki page of Third Wars controversies and behind the scenes events - it's illuminating. :o

@@ryanodonovan9497 I'm not aware of any rule that prohibits you from continuing if you manage to escape a pit.
@ryanodonovan94973 жыл бұрын
@@Mitjitsu It's just logic. The pit has always meant instant elimination, therefore escaping it in any way wouldn't allow a competitor to continue. Otherwise, there'd be no point in having the pit if it works about as much as a knockout spot as any other place in the arena. It's why it made no sense that robots were allowed to continue if they escaped the pit in Series 4's Pinball Warrior Tournament; then again, it also made no sense that the pit was shallow enough there to be escaped from and (in the case of that contest) not seem deep enough to contain the sphere without the possibility of it getting knocked out of there.

Anarachnid should've won, because it was the only robot that moved as it was meant to, whereas Mammoth never moved outside of its circumference! Not that I'm too bothered by it when both those robots were inferior for fighting anyway, but even they should be given the correct treatment. Another Blunderturd robot. Durability and Reliability should be primary for any robot. if it won't even work from the start, dun matter how cool or dangerous it's weapons. Also hardened blades that may shatter is prohibited.... any thin metal can shatter, hardened or not. sure if it's with regards to specifically hardened metal because it might be more fragile in that kind of way.... suuuure. Like not having impact-armor on your robot or built-in shaped charges cuz no landmines, etc. Most circular saws are hardened metal as well so... what about Dead Metal's circular saw?
@ryanodonovan94973 жыл бұрын
Not that I'm trying to speak ill of the dead, but I'm glad Alan Gribble wasn't yet on the show to give this reaction to Pussycat's disqualification that he later did... *"Gutted!! That is the only way to describe it. I think the decision was harsh. Nobody was hurt, we gained no advantage from using the blade and in the end we beat Scutter's Revenge without a weapon at all. Ya Boo Sucks!"* Sorry, but that's more wrong than right. No, there was no unfair advantage from that hardened blade. But regardless, winning the battle was irrelevant, much less with or without a weapon. And so what if nobody got hurt? IT COULD HAVE HAPPENED! The fact it didn't is no excuse. Keep in mind that in Series 1, Dead Metal's blade detached and flew at 200mph into a concrete wall, almost fucking killing Jeremy Clarkson! The risk is real. And that's not even going into the other incidents that happened backstage. So, if you're not going to follow health and safety rules, you shouldn't be there whether you win or lose any battle or prize. Besides, Pussycat initially won this Heat final on a fluke. Scutter's Revenge was clearly the better robot in the battle until it unluckily broke down. Not that I would've reversed the decision because of that (it's just the way bad luck strikes sometimes, and it's fair to say that you shouldn't die before your opponent in order to win), but I still hate it when robots _only_ win that way, without being the better in battle. At least this controversy meant conveniently avoiding such cheapness.
