I just did the exact same thing and watched your video for the reassemble. Gotta say, yours looks way better and I obviously suck at painting. Thanks for the vid

couldn't figure out what was wrong with mine, it wasn't ratcheting and it turns out it was just the "pitman pin" fell out. But I took it all apart trying to fix it before I realized that's what it was. but couldn't have done that without your video thanks man

What prevents the running gear from going down after lowering the load lever to the down position? I made sure the lifting arm is in the up position. I figured out to pry the top pin away from the bar with screwdriver and then it slides easily up and down. Why is the top pin not staying in the out position?

I have a brand new Hi Lift that won't lower, with or without a load on it. I tried all the suggestions from Ew Toobers and still have the problem. Why didn't you show your jack lowering a load or are you having the same issue?
@NJSInstructional2 жыл бұрын
Did you replace the locking pins, if so, are they installed correctly? Try also some WD-40 around the moving components...
@2-old-Forthischet2 жыл бұрын
@@NJSInstructional do you mean the cross pins that go through the climbing pins? If yes, yes I have replaced them with the pins NOT going through the springs. There is so much WD-40 it could be considered an oil well! I am presently conversing via e-mail with Hi Lift. Hopefully they can help.

Does it matter what direction to pull the pins out?

I have a question about the kit your used on your jack I have a jack very similar to the one you have made by another company by the name of larin I have not found anything yet on this jack modal and it strait up looks like anything else that does this work of lifting now if I were to use any of the rebuild kits by any other of these jack companies would they be at all compatible by the qay this jack I am talking about I found it an d think I can get it back in to service after a few questions Thank you in advance

I'm not sure if this genuine kit would suit non Hi-Lift Jack models. Each manufacturer might have slight differences in design, dimensions etc.

I'm not sure if mine is beyond restoring; lift pins are so rusty they need to be pried out when there isn't wd40 and handle is welded into the socket and is so rusty it snapped when I slammed it shut too hard.

He obviously fixed pins I've used one of these myself know how frustrating when handle won't go back up Works great on tree stumps breaking them up and lifting them out

Okay this isn't a troll comment just a serious question. Since you didn't use any primer is that paint gunna hold up at all? I would think it would just come right back off. How did it hold up since it's been awhile now.
@NJSInstructional3 жыл бұрын
Good question. It has held up quite well actually. The paint I used was a primer and top coat in one. Cheers.

I was looking for a vidoe that showed the teardown and re-assembly. This wasn't it.

If you contact Hi-Lift on their website and tell them you repainted your jack, you can ask for new stickers and they will send them to you for free!

Wow, didn't know that. Thanks for sharing!

Don't really need to pull main handle if you just pull pin back wiggle the sackle up The fence post looking connection rod usually gets stuck on central pin bar Pull handed retainer fell off after buying it

WHY would you do a video on disassembling and maintaining a tool, and set it to a high-speed playback? It was worthless. 😕
@pearl74772 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. Could have edited out much of the stripping part, since little is learned from that, and spent more time at a slower speed with the more critical parts.
