You picked up the lyrical wordplay between the English word "weirdo" and the Korean 위로 위로 더 (wilo wilo deo), meaning ("up up more," or "higher"). But there's a bigger one that is central to this album. The Korean 별 (byeol) is "star," but 별별 (byeol byeol) means "all sorts of unusual" (that's hanja, which is mostly over my head). Anyway, stars stick out from the norm as bright points in the night sky. Stars are 별별, all sorts of unusual, or weirdos. And 별별별 is all sorts of unusual stars. See that? A common theme of the Stick Out project is the black sheep, the outcast. But it is okay to stick out from the norm, to be a weirdo, because we are just unusual stars. When you consider that Korean society has a strong normative element, the themes are counter-cultural. It's a powerful message.
