What are your thoughts about the Tomir? Let me know in the comments
@HungaroExplorer
@HungaroExplorer Жыл бұрын
After 5 months of using the Tomir, I think I know what is the most annoying thing about this shoe: the shoe laces when the shoes get wet. The shoe laces get untied super easy when they get wet, which is pretty annoying while you are hiking or running with them. I am curious if any of you have that problem?

Perfect shoe for just about any trail conditions. No negatives at all from me 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😸🦄

Yes, I agree! But I found one little annoying thing, if the shoes gets wet, the shoe laces are getting untied all the time…and if you run in places where vegetation is touching the shoe, those laces just getying undone even faster. I think that is one thing they have to work on. Other than that no complains.

Would this shoe work for narrow, low volume feet?
@HungaroExplorer
@HungaroExplorer 9 ай бұрын
I think yes, it can fit narrow feet. I consider my foot low volume on the borderline of narrow/normal and fits me well. The only thing it could be better is the support. It doesn’t have a raised arch support so I use my insole to help with that. This way is an even better fit for me. The new Tomir 2.0 will have arch support and couple little changes I am excited about.

Hello Húngaro Explorer, I liked seeing you in Picos de Europa, it is the region where I live, very mountainous. A lot of people here wear the Nnormal Tomir; I haven't tried them yet, but the sole is the best for this area, as it usually rains and works very well on all types of terrain. For me the Salomon or Adidas fit better, although I miss the adhesion of the vibran megagrip, a greeting from Asturias, Spain

Hola! I love Picos de Europa!. Actually I am going back in the beginning of June. The Tomir works great on that surface, and now I have the Tomir 2.0 which is an even better shoe than the 1.0. Review coming up soon! I wear a lot of Salomon and La Sportiva shoes too, but I found the Vibram MegaGrip the best traction out there. Maybe I see you in Picos sometime!

Yes, I usually watch your videos, I like how you explain yourself (apart from the fact that I have to do with the subtitled translator) and the areas where you move. If I wear a 44'5 in Salomon shoes, you recommend half a size less in tomir1 and tomir2??? Change the sizing on the new model ?? Thank you.

Oh man, that must be some work. Soon we will have AI translating in every language, that could work😜 I am wearing US Size 9 both in Salomon and Nnormal shoes. They differ in EU sizes I think, but I don’t know exactky. The Tomir 1 or 2 sizing is the same.

Can i use this shoe as my only training shoe? Even running on tarmac roads?
@HungaroExplorer
@HungaroExplorer 6 ай бұрын
You can use it as your only training shoe if you are only running on trails. Tarmac road might be ok but not for long miles and regular road is kind of uncomfortable in this hoe. The Tomir 2.0 has a softer midsole with better energy return so that could work better for tarmac road running in my opinion.

Stable enough for technical hiking?

I love it for technical hiking. In my opinion it feels more stable for technicla hiking than running.

The dirt actually makes the shoe look better to me. At first I thought you had a new colorway. Ha.

Haha, I like the new colorway idea. I am not sure how other people says that it this shoes doesn’t get too dirty, not in my experience.

Hi,akasha II or tomir? I run 20/25k
@HungaroExplorer
@HungaroExplorer 8 ай бұрын
That is a great question. The Akasha II has a better support but narrower toebox, the Tomir is lighter, less supportive with wider toebox. It is tough to choose, but If I run technical rocky terrain with some scrambling section I take the Akasha II, because it has a better support and more of a approach shoe style. The Tomir would handle well the same terrain but lacking the support can make your foot more fatigue in my experience. The Tomir 2 comes out soon and they added more arch support with a softer midsole which can be a great upgrade. That will be another option if you want to wait. I hope this helps.

How many miles could you run in this total? over 500? over 800?
@HungaroExplorer
@HungaroExplorer 9 ай бұрын
Well, there isn’t a specific mileage meter, it all depends on what kind of surfaces are you running, your running style and some other factors. I think these shoes can go between 400-500 miles in general but if you are using it on not as rugged terrain, then even longer.

Hello, I usually run between 30-50km in races. I am looking for a shoe that is comfortable and can last a long time. I am stuck between La sportiva Akasha II and NNormal Tomir Waterprof. Please give me your opinion and help.
@HungaroExplorer
@HungaroExplorer 11 ай бұрын
That's a tough question. Both shoes are good, but each has their strengths and weaknesses. Both good for longer distance however I would prefer the Akasha 2 because it has more structure to it to keep your foot more stable on long distance. Durability wise I think the Tomir will beat the Akasha 2. The lugs and the sole wears out way quicker on the Akasha, and even the upper will fail earlier than the Tomir's. The Tomir is waterproof, the Akasha is not, so there is a clear winner there. I think you should try each of the shoes before you make your final decision. I hope this helps somehow.
