Incorrect analogy: the gtr is far too refined to be a MacDonald, and the bugatti far too pretentious to be osteria francescana. Let's say a modded M5 vs a Pagani, there, now it's a balanced analogy.

To be honest there are various approaches to food...neither can be judged solely on one basis. The purpose of McDonalds is to serve fast and cheap food which tastes pretty good for it's price. Fine dine on the other hand is a luxury which is really good as well.

Good question... Shazam is of no help. On all newer videos I make a note of the song. In this case, I've renamed the original file, sadly. It's a string quartet, possibly from the composer Thommy Andersson (it has the initials ThAn), but I cannot find the song name. Sorry. In either case, I get all music from the Epidemic Sound library, and a lot of the songs are not available outside that realm.

It's not actually the most expensive restaurant in the world, only the best. Two persons can eat for less than 650€ if I am not mistaken. That is still a lot of money but not too much considering that it is a "one-in-a-lifetime" experience, that Bottura is the highest rated chef in the world and that both his staff and his ingredients are of the highest quality.
@liamhalliday84375 жыл бұрын
@@domenicomarzolla3045 I would say 4-5 hours on a large tasting menu with 3 bottles of decent wine and tip is usually just shy of £1K for 2. It's a lot of money to be sure, but we would rather do that than go on holiday for a week. It's all just a question of priorities really. I'm with Anders, although you have to be reasonably well off, we're not millionaires and try and go to a good restaurant once a year.
@liamhalliday84375 жыл бұрын
Looks awesome. I've not been but recently went to La Pergola in Rome, would be curious if anybody has been to both and could compare. In general wifey and I LOVED the food in Italy. This restaurant seems to have a similar style to La Pergola, where I found they would typically take just 2 ingredients and make a dish. "carrot and rabbit", "fois gras and raspberries", but ofc there was so much more to it. If I compared that to say the Fat Duck or Moments in Spain ("only" 2 star, but incredible IMO) many of the dishes were far more elaborate in terms of design. Not saying either is right or wrong, or better or worse, but food for thought as it were :)

john tan how would you have eaten them?
@crackscreed20377 жыл бұрын
preferably for that high calibre of caviar, you would use a golden spoon if not the Mother of Pearl caviar spoon. Metal spoons can react with caviar and ruin its taste especially silver spoons(according to experts). However, based on my experience of multiple caviar tasting, I found it bothering that the caviar really does change its taste when I use metal spoons. Since gold is inert and MoP spoons are made with inert materials, they dont react.

john tan it’s not caviar ... that’s why the dish is called «Lentils are better than caviar.»

Hi Anders. What do you think about the wine pairing? Me and my girlfriend are going to get married next year and for our honeymoon we want to dine here. But is the wine pairing worth the ( almost )€200 ? And aren't you completely wasted after the dinner ? Thanks ! And thanks for making these wonderful video's
@andersandkaitlin5 жыл бұрын
Hi Luuk. Congrats on your upcoming marriage! The wine pairing was not my style of wine, so it's hard to say. I would probably go for a bottle to share of something you love instead :)

ok I believe this is amazing for sure, but its so sad that some people give a lot of money to eat these dishes and some other they don't have anything to eat or they don't have clear water to drink...
@andersandkaitlin7 жыл бұрын
Well, yes, you can argue that. But that goes for pretty much all consumption in the Western world, right? Isn't it worse with a billionaire who buys a yacht or a house that costs more than what small villages earn their entire life? At least, the chefs here are paid so they can feed their family, the farmers are paid so they can feed their family, and so forth ... Besides, check out all the great work chef Massimo Bottura has done to feed the poor!

Bottura has started many projects to feed the poor in Italy and in the world, cooks nowadays don't only think in their clients and themselves but need to have a consciousness for the worlds itself

It’s honestly better to pay more for quality food, or at least food that is produced in such a way that it supports the environment and the farmers, than shitty-quality cheap fast food. Organic food or fair trade food is more expensive than normal food. But most people don’t want to spend more money on such. It’s the same with clothes. Cheap clothes come from cheap labour. Clothes that are produced in a good way are way more expensive.
