Hi, Andrew... great discussion and demo. What is interesting is that the yellow, normally a difficult color, seemed to bond the best. Most paints nowadays have a "primer" element in them. I have found many brands of "low-cost" paints and primers with mixed results in terms of quality. Very nicely done!

That looks like a great result, Andy. On another note, there's a new bookazine come out from Key Publishing called 'By Design' there's a 009-layout in it, that is really nothing more than a mockup. Just thought I'd flag it up that it's mine, Dylan isn't very happy because he is a lot further on with his than I am, and says it should have been his in there, and to be fair it probably should have been. Hopefully, he's got another update coming soon...cheers James 🙂👍

Been a long time since Halfords spray cans were £8. Unfortunately they have increased in costs and are now £11.99. The worse thing, about 6 months ago, Halfords have changed their paint and now it shockingly shite (for a modellers use). As a laser cut kit model manufacturer, Halfords White & Grey primer was all we used, they were far superior and you paid for what you get but now, they've been binned (and I'm no the only one). Subsequently, we've tried a range of paints and there is only one that we now use and that is paint spray from Pro-Cote. Using MDF, we need a paint that works well and also protects the wood. Looks like you've found a nice cheap paint that works well with resin.

Hi Steve, I did notice an issue with a new can of grey from Halfords that when I painted over some Humbrol enamel it cracked. I need to try it out on some MDF. I did use it on a kit from Scalemodelscenery using I think it laser board and it seemed ok. Keep safe and well my friend Andy

Do you know how Halfords paint changed or just noticed that properties bad?
@SteveSmithRailways2 ай бұрын
@alanrobertson9790 its consistency is now very thin and does not work well with MDF now being so thin. Still, it is car paint so guess nowt will be done but subsequently have found Pro Cote and so far so good and nearly half the price.

Good Vid They do tend to change brands every so offten, or the cans get smaller. The only issue i`ve had with those paints is availabilty, sods law creeps in you go in the get flat white and they`ll only have gloss black, It`s a case of grab it if they`ve got it, the range is worth a try, though not as cheap and sometimes B&M Home bargains will stock a few tins.

Hi Clive, I will have a look in B&M thanks for the tip. Hope you are doing ok my friend? Look forward to seeing your next job lot Andy

I'll give it a try. For £2.50 vs at least £9 from motor factor shops, its worth a try, but on a small project or area initially.
