I don't think it actually wound up mattering (Carl had an untapped land in hand the first time, and it didn't get tapped the second time), but Field of the Dead actually enters the battlefield tapped. That drawback wound up mattering decidedly less than the designers intended, as it still got banned in multiple formats. But if you're ever playing FotD in EDH, just know that it's a tapland.

Yeah I had not played the card since it was banned 4 years ago, and even then I only played it for some weeks 😅 I forgot it entered tapped. Luckily, it didn't end up mattering since I had untapped lands in my hand :)

@lhii616 I'm really disappointed in your comment. Players accusing people of cheating willy-nilly when they are obviously not cheating is hurtful to the community in general. People make mistakes and misread cards in most games of magic. They are simply not usually filmed, so people don'r notice. You can do better than this I'm sure :)

Once upon a time into goose into oko was the most busted start during that time. I remember the only counter was to run Noxious grasp (think that was the name) which was meant to be a sideboard card but was never dead because everyone ran Oko. It was insane those cards were supposed to be standard legal alongside Uro and Yorion etc.

While I figure you're already planning on doing later years, do you got any plans on doing 1996, 1995, and 1994? I know that that might include some "creative" solutions for some of the cards (what with the '94 deck just having a casual Power Nine in it) but I would love to see those decks played!

There's a channel called Team APS that a few years ago was doing a lot of creative card game content with YuGiOh: Drafts, "can we make a deck around this card" challenges, random card haul deck building challenges, etc. At the time I was hoping beyond hope that I, as an MTG player much more than a YGO player, could find an MTG channel that did the same sort of interesting creative stuff. While it's not exactly the same, this channel really fills that want for me. You guys are incredible. Somethingt funny that I saw was that in the last game you could have won with Thoralf's combo through exchanging the food with Thassa, then blinking Oko with the Guardian (from Saheeli) to create another food, then next turn steal the Inverter to win. A fun possibility I saw lol.

I played most of my magic during the period between Khans block and Thrones of Eldraine, the period that accounts for some of pioneer's most powerful cards and it felt like every spell featured in both decks was one I'd cast a thousand times before

Despite all the times Expressive Iteration has ruined my life, I also played it for more than a year every night in a grixis control deck on Arena and loved it. It is one of a small few cards that I find so memorable and beautiful that I want to frame and hang it up like my foil Shadowmoor lands.

I have an idea I've always wanted to do with my buddies but no one will do it with me. Have a 5 player commander pod, each person plays one of the flipped planes-walkers as their commander. Also, since you can use planes-walkers as commanders now, the original Lorwynn walkers would also work
