The EMP Shield can see and protect all the electronics and equipment connected to an electrical system. This is accomplished by shunting (shorting) the overvoltage coming in from the grid or from solar panels attached to your portable power station. Whether the electrons are collected within your electrical system or are attempting to come into your electrical system from an outside source, the EMP Shield will see the surge and protect your electrical system. Since the shunting is completed incredibly fast (500 trillionths of a second), the overvoltage is pulled away from your equipment before the voltage can rise high enough to damage it. EMP Shield calls this new technology SightSpeed™, and it ensures no heat is generated within the electrical system, protecting all electronics connected to the system. Built to exceed military standards (MIL-STD-188-125-1), EMP Shield pulls excess electricity from the electrical system in less than 500 trillionths of a second. EMP Shield is designed to protect an entire system from Lightning, CME (coronal mass ejection, power surges, and an EMP (electromagnetic pulse). Proven and tested at Keystone Compliance, a federally approved Department of Defense (DOD) testing facility, the EMP Shield technology was struck with over 40 EMP strikes with no impact to the device. MIL-STD-188-125-1 requires that the overvoltage spike from the E1 spike begin shunting 5,000 Amps within 20 nanoseconds. All EMP Shield models start shunting overvoltage in 500 trillionths of a second. EMP Shield is also designed to continue protecting through the expected durations of the E2 and E3 spikes produced by a high-altitude electromagnetic pulse. EMP Shield has also been tested to all other military EMP Standards. EMP Shield devices are also UL 1449 compliant and have been tested at Intertek.

@@Inergytek damn, what a reply. I thought the electronics had to be tube based to take the voltage spike. Maybe some large mosfets could also handle this. I have the previous mode, the Apex. Had an issue with it from the beginning. Had white silicone falling out of it when I received it. Reached out to them, they said it was over applied. Was missing the terminal end caps, they mailed me them. My inverter stopped working on it. Only DC power now. They said bc it's been over a year I no longer have "warranty" so they refused to take it in without charging me. Sadly I don't use it as much to have it fail within the timeframe, so I'm out of luck unless I pay. Craig, when you add Flex Batteries to a stack, they will automatically connect to each other when their voltages are within range of each other (about 0.8V). If your battery voltages are too far apart, you can still connect them, but each individual battery will only enable as it comes within range. As you use the Flex system, the batteries will automatically enable and equalize. Once connected, the power console display will show the combined state of charge for all currently enabled batteries in the stack.

So how do you test that it has EMP protected as claimed?
@SilverCymbal2 жыл бұрын
There is no reliable way a home or even advanced user can test it. The other problem is EMPs can vary in terms of how damaging they are. I believe the device is an ultra fast surge suppressor which is how they work and it will increase your chances of working after EMPs but to what degree I can't be certain. There are so many articles on it either way, you have to draw your own conclusion. Considering how many people buy extended service contracts on things that never break, at least this is a physical "insurance policy" of some type.

They have some military certifications that state the same. But what does all this mean? The only guarantee is that you have a better chance of stopping an EMP pulse on your electronics having one of these than not having one at all. NO this is not a generator it’s an INVERTER. Yes, it will run the fridge for a couple of hours! NO, this will not run your house 🏠! NO, the EMP device is a surge protector that will ONLY protect the unit from limited power surges when plugged in. A Faraday Cage is the only protection for any electronic device during an EMP. Not hating on you bro just do some background work

The EMP stuff is more debated than US politics. You can find info that supports these devices work and there are a lot of folks saying they don't. The only thing I have noticed is that those that say they are ineffective don't really any proof to show why but the EMP shield folks do have some certifications saying they do. Who is right? I will leave that up to the buyer to decide since testing these isn't really possible without specialized equipment.
