Speaking of the human body - "... *we are not created for any grander purpose other than the mosquito*..." This certainly goes to the root of the (mind) tree with an axe. Tho first reaction may be resistance - yet by being open - by stepping back & yet back again, taking in a vaster perspective at one glance - it can be seen this way. We tend to elevate the human _at the expense of_ other elements in creation. We can really get screwed up via comparing things - _any_ things - for that's surely the work of mind, & also linear. Yet if we'd _truly_ heard one of his first lines here, we wouldn't be comparing anything - we'd know it's all just one, that no-thing can be separate. Separation is an illusion of mind. U.G.'s perspective is so very vast. I can see, now, that mind's resistance to this is what kept me from hearing him. So very vast. Seeing this way is as a death - the death of so many beliefs - beliefs that mind mistook as identity.

LOL - Sorry, I don't indulge in such things. ;) It's all one, you know - or perhaps you know - so the mosquito is every bit the manifestation of Source that we are. Even made of the same 99.9999999% empty atoms in this hologram where nothing is as it appears :D ~♥~

Oh well - I injoy having a flexible perspective - looking at things from m/any angle(s). Mind pretzels are fun, such as the Sufi saying, "These eyes thru which I hoped to see God are the eyes thru which God sees me." It's such fun, getting the rug pulled out from under (mind/ego). My question is what is that purpose we assume we have to fulfill.? if there were a purpose at all ,with our SUPERIOR INTELLIGENCE on this planet we would definitely know. Is'nt it.?....IF HUMAN EXISTENCE HAS TO HAVE A PURPOSE, IT ALREADY HAS IN LIVING & DOING.? the 'purpose' of creation in my opinion is to transform the material & the physical to spiritual & non-existential. what i mean is that, every physical body reaches the spiritual dimension after it ceases to exist.? for example, take the simple example of an APPLE. what is the purpose of the apple.?... to satiate itself by serving someone, so that it provides sustenance to someone & culminates its purpose. likewise a HUMAN BEING serves his own kind in whatever way possible, consummates his life of servitude & ceases to exist physically, thus transforming himself into non-entity...that is to get subsumed in a spiritual dimension of worldly servitude.? THE PURPOSE OF A MOSQUITO ALSO FALLS WITHIN THIS DEFINITION, THOUGH DIFFERENTLY....it 'sucks' the blood of its victim infuses some infection & calls it a day by feeding itself. that is the purpose of the mosquito...not beyond it. it cannot do any different, because the very purpose with which it is created is to 'bite' a victim & thus fulfill its ordained purpose.?

Just fantastic. Chrystel clear! “The organism has definite potentialities, and because it has them it has the need to actualize or realize them. The fulfillment of these needs represents the self-actualization of the organism” (Goldstein, 1934). And, self-actualization, self-realization or self-fulfillment -- fulfilling all our organismic needs and wants -- is what can be termed as "happiness". And if we do find this "happiness", we become another UG. My two bits ;)

Is happiness attained via deeds different then happiness attained via thoughts? I guess it depends on the parameters, UG always makes me realize I don't know shit regardless of the amount of math I throw at the problem. Our solutions create more problems then they solve in the long run and the cycles repeat. Love em.

I see it as happiness doesn't exist it is a word to describe action and emotion which is really only energy which can't be permanent because happiness to a killer is not happiness to you happiness can't exist only based on what you perceive it as

Ferdinand Alexander Sir, obviously the "Outward" demand for change bring about all kind of charlatanisms and disorder. Change can never be Outwardly but inwardly. So" what we are" must be understood and be faced, then changer will be there. You are quite right Sir: A dog is not dominated by the thought, A dog is not under the control of thought and desire. So, a dog doesn't Destroy Or Kill His Similar. A Dog lives and dies in absolute Order with nature. Best Regards.

kourosh Haas "you" as you know yourself cannot separate from thought so anything "we" say about animals is pure speculation. Apparently there were dogs before the word "dog". What are they? I really don't know.

I really know nothing. Even saying you are thought is rooted in thought. What is thought? The answer is rooted in thought. I don't know. "One cannot think without words and images"? Is there one thinking? Have "you" as you know yourself ever had a thought that was entirely all your own? Have you ever had an experience you could call your own? Thought itself could be nothing more than a neurological defect. I don't know. Thought is division. Thought is that which separates you from the life around you. In the absence of thought there is no you and thus no separation. It seems thought is necessary to live in the reality that is imposed on us but thought is also out of control. It has allowed human beings to progress but perhaps ultimately we are progressing toward extinction.

And there is no other instrument. If that is understood then there is no need to understand anymore anything.
