I guess he raised too many death flags this chapter...
Why people still call him "Sou", you wonder? It's just people showing respect for his decision of throwing away his old self, "Shin Tsukimi".
I really don't want Sou to die.
But if you choose the other two, he will hate your guts.
Probably worse if you choose Kanna.
Just consider it a noble sacrifice. Sou will be remembered. Poor guy can't even win once.

Neko Girl please stop spreading misinformation about these kinds of laws and saying that a 17 year old getting with someone in their 20s is okay. There is a signification difference in development between a teenager and someone who is in the early stages of adulthood and it’s extremely irresponsible of you to be endorsing that publicly like this over a ship of all things. sara is still considered a minor until she’s 20 and the laws of age of consent in Japan can depend on the prefecture, it’s not a national law and there’s even places in America that allow child marriage and generally have laws in place that protect adults preying on children and teenagers to get away with it. Does that make any of it ok? No but we live in a world with broken systems and we should use some common sense to judge whether something is wrong or not. A 17 year old isn’t a grown adult and if an actual adult is showing interest in someone that young then there is a problem with the situation and it is often that they are trying to take advantage of the younger person’s lack of experience to have control of the way the relationship plays out. I’m in my 20s now and have many friends that when they were younger they did seek out relationships with older men and only realized later than they were often manipulated and used, but did not have the background knowledge to realize this sooner bc of their age and them lacking in experience and wanting to seem older and more mature. It’s a very sad situation and I understand that u do not have any ill intent with ur comment but please... this concerns a real life issue and it’s not responsible to be supporting this kind of pattern over a fictional relationship.

A lot of people compare Sou to Kokichi Ouma since they’re both liars. But I really don’t see the resemblance in personality. Sou and Kokichi were both scared of their killing games and wanted to avoid their deaths as much as possible, but Kokichi shielded his feelings more and raised hell on everyone. Sou really didn’t do that at all. I see so much emotion and character backstory with Sou than Kokichi, and that says a lot. I can’t see Sou being like Nagito Komaeda or Byakuya Togami either, just because Sou shows a bit of antagonization doesn’t mean he’s necessarily like them haha. Of course everyone’s entitled to their own opinions though

I mean, the only way to get the best outcome is to sacrifice Sou, who was one of the sacrificial lambs of the game from the very beginning. It's not that he is always predicted to die, but because the rest of the potential scenarios indicate that he CHOSE to die, because of cruel fate and sadistic choices like this one, because he finally realises that if he doesn't die, he'll end up making shit worse for everyone. Hence ergo why the other two outcomes are not as bright as the one where Sou is the second sacrifice.

2 Floor Guardians have broken rules now by randomly slaughtering someone and just died to dodge the problem. There is more evidence to there being no winner no matter how long the game continues. And maybe at the end they'll just let 1 or 2 survive anyway like with the sacrifice perk. So taking the early way out sparing everyone from more unnecessary suffering and saving an innocent person in Nao for me really was the best choice. Next to being logical, it's also human to want to escape this and take the opportunity given to them. Even if they would somehow manage to escape by group effort, there would still be some influential organisation searching for them and just putting them back in there. They cant run from that.

2:20:45 So to sum up each choice in one word. Voting Keiji is the “Stupid” Choice, Voting Kanna is the “Logical” Choice, Voting Sou is the “Feeling” Choice, and Voting Nao is the “Selfish” Choice. For explanation; Voting Keiji literally means that it will still be a tie between Kanna and Sou, it doesn’t change the outcome and just makes you look stupid. Voting Kanna mean you are saving Sou just so he can still be useful. Voting Sou mean you are saving Kanna just because it is for feeling. Voting Nao mean that you are being selfish by sacrificing everyone so only you and Nao can escape.

Adding to those who said Sou was angry when you chose Kanna over him because he started to care for her... I also think the reason Sou wanted everyone to vote for him over Kanna was because he could unlock his collar and escape, therefore making them only sacrifice one person. Sou probably thought he could make a break for it, but in the room with where you're helping him back security there was a note saying there was an automatic security that would kill escapees. Sou probably didn't notice it and RIP. If he succeeded whether he'd actually help the cast afterwards remains a mystery. He's ambiguous as fuck and I love it. He's probably much more well-intentioned deep down but he had to "abandon that self" in order to raise his chances to survive, becoming the jerkass we know him as. There's something really fishy with him still. In a flashback we saw Sou shot at one point but MISHIMA was there besides him and Sara. And then the flashback of Sara attacking Sou (hallucination is also possible). And the ACTUAL Sou still somehow being alive? (And maybe dead again thanks to our Sou. But then how did he survive Alice the first time?) I hope him and Keiji get answered, because fuck my bara daddy's slowly showing some sinister aura on this last part...

The entire game is about going against the kidnappers and trying not to betray all of your morals. They aren't going to make killing Kanna who canonically has the most connection to Sara as a character a just as happy route.

I'm sure both routes will be interesting in their own way, in the same way that the Alice vs Reko branch turned out to be. To me it felt more like a choice between a hopeful vs darker path, if you compare the events afterwards. I *was* sort of disappointed that picking Kanna meant you missed out on the epilogue with Sara's dad, seems like an odd choice but that might be relevant later.

@Nahxdas Except Kanna living matches with the games' themes. You may not like how hopeful it is but it objectively is the better route than Sou living. Kanna's route reveals the Chapter 3 teaser, a sweet wrap up to Joe and gives Sou a better ending. There SHOULD be an objectively better route since it's better for adaptions. You can still enjoy the Sou lives route even if it isn't canon.

Come to think about it, all the "non-candidates" including Joe, Kai and Nao are now all dead. Sou with the statistically 0% survival rate is also "proven" dead. Maybe the entire Death Game was meant to prove a hypothesis, that even when there are non-candidate participants, the candidate participants will always be worthy of survival based on their innate characteriscs and intellect, etc.

Yes, and mostly surrounding Sara family too. First off, we did get to see the scene between Sara and her father talking by the end of the chapter. And judging from the pattern of this game, these scenes seem to imply future plot points. We also got the same thing with Gin and Q-taro (a.k.a. JoJo lol) lying on the floor and Sou (Shin) dying. Furthermore, remember the conversation between Sara's father and Kai? During the conversation, the father seemed to got really maniacally angry and possessive of Sara. I think it was intentional. I wouldn't say they 'aren't supposed to be in the game', they are just not expected to beat the "candidates" or at least not win the game. The reason I think they are intentionally brought here is that there are dolls made specially for them, most evidently the Joe doll (who himself is not a candidate). The game does go to excruciating lengths to tell us how accurate these dolls are and how the participants have been watched very closely for years. If they were not supposed to be in the game, we wouldn't have their dolls lying around to begin with. You are right to raise concern about the death of Mishima though because he's a candidate that actually perished before a non-candidate (Joe and Kai). A more important thing to note is that Alice/Reko also suffered the same fate (they died before Nao - a non-candidate). Their deaths, and especially Mishima, couldn't have been for mere theatrics. However, this would also mean that it doesn't really matter whether the non-candidates are expected to always die first throughout the game. This makes me think that the true capacity of the non-candidates is beyond being an extra competitive element for the candidates. There is still so much we don't know at this point. Do you have any theory?

A believe Salfalin is actually remorseful for them, but she has to act like the enemy so she wouldn’t be found out. it’s kinda been proven many times throughout this chapter. Like when she gives hints about how to get through the way pregame and when she gave them Ranger’s chip knowing what they were going to do with it. And I’m pretty sure she actually did hesitate to go through Kanna’s execution (I theorize that before she went through it she wanted Q-taro to shoot her when she made that scary face and kept walking closer to him without attacking him, since her death would be the only way to stop her from taking Kanna’s life).

Already watched the playthrough in Japanese and certain parts still don't make sense. (spoilers) What happened right after Sou got shot? Sara couldn't keep up with a dying man who managed to even write code on a keyboard? Why did nobody but Sara follow him? Sou showing her Joe's A.I. counts as a present but how is that a "hole in her reasoning"? It's not a bad translation since the same problem is present in the original text. It's a much more positive ending than the one where Kanna dies, true. The dead Joe arc comes to a perfect close with fantastic looking CGs in it and we get the father plot twist. However, it seems much more sloppily written than the Kanna dying end. Even the father twist is done badly since we have no idea how we even got to that certain scene.

A bit of a stretch tbh, but it makes no sense in any other context I agree, the Sou Dies end could've been written way better. Sou dying would be imo the canon route which is sad because I think we’d have a lot of conflict- even with Reko. Kanna was just a child. And Nao also dies, which would also deeply affect Reko. that moment of choice completely broke me i love both sou and kanna, i tried to choose keiji ‘maybe this will fix it’ but I couldn’t i knew I couldn’t pick nao so... i chose kanna. she wished for this after all... now.. i can’t be with joe anymore..

That's your own fault. Kanna's not in the right state of mind to actually want that to happen and sacrificing an innocent kid for someone who actively antagonized the main character and was a major part of what brought Joe's demise... Is stupid. He doesn't even want to help you anymore if he lives!

What are they going to do now that there is two storylines? (Where Kanna dies and where Sou dies) It would be cool if either the other one was a lie or chapt. 3 does something different with them. Like two chapt. 3 continuations or something? I really can't wait to find out. Six months uhhgg... But to be honest I prefer the ending where Sou survives because it might be more interesting even though that Joe scene was so nice!

There's also the question of keeping Alice or keeping Reko alive since Alice clearly knows more about the history of his past victim - the real Sou Hiyori (this is evident from the laptop sharing scene). When asked if Sou and Shin are acquainted, Shin gives off a very dubious answer: "...I wonder" and appears to not trust Alice. So maybe, there will be 4 branches in total for chapter 3?

*spoilers!!* my heart hurts so much, i can’t believe nao died. i’m crying so much :( i loved her the most. and her conversation with reko before she died, my heart can’t take this :(. also, i *personally* believe that if sara voted for nao, that nao wouldn’t save sara. she would take reko with her. she probably told sara she would take her so she could get her vote. because reko and nao formed a close bond with each other through this short time after being kidnapped. as you can see. after alice died, reko wanted nao to stay with her, and how reko would apologize to nao when she was upset, and how they sat together on the stairs. :( i really hope reko lives. because she’s my second favorite. she’d want to live for nao and alice.

honestly, I thought that was gonna happen when I voted for Nao (on my third run, for completion sake), but to my suprise she took us with her, which is why Sara and Nao are my second favourite ship behind Reko and Nao

Everyone else: I killed Kanna because Sou has more potential for an interesting story, and Kanna basically completed her character arc anyway. Me: That cute little girl has a bucket on her head, and the beanie guy looked at me funny!

This game has made me the most emotional out of any game I’ve played by far. That end part had me in tears, sobbing by myself 😂 (Crying in the club up in here 😪😪) When I found out there was more than one ending to this chapter and one of them involved Sou dying, I was really upset and I was like “Okay, so picking Nao will kill everyone except me and her, so picking Kanna since Sou is the best won’t hurt, right?” I definitely believe that now this chapter is done, choosing Sou gives you much more hope. Picking Kanna has Sou mad at you and the chapter leaves it at that anger. But picking Sou leaves Nao’s happiness, Kanna’s happiness, and Sou’s happiness, too. If he was angry with you he wouldn’t of left you the present of Joe. And everyone else is willing to end the game, too. So really, I wasn’t looking forward to the “Sou dies” ending at first, and I definitely don’t like it, but Joe and Alice died too. And they were my favorites. (Was also bawling at those deaths too, I was completely surprised that I cried) But it’s okay. The characters are able to move on and everyone is okay. I’m just so glad that Sou, or Shin, really had that light in him to be so nice to Sara. It would suck if all endings caused Sou to have some sort of grudge on you. In short, I know the games’ not finished, but I’m so excited to see what happens next and I’m super content with this ending. Thanks! 😀

I voted Kanna because I thought Sou was an important character...But now Sou hates me, and seeing this "Happy ending" makes me sad a little. I will do better endings when I finish my first gameplay. Also I didn't save Reko because I didn't throw the fake :c So, the real Reko and the fake one fighted, the fake one stabbed Reko in the stomach and then killed herself, I think..I think I got the worst ending :C And I'm also quite mad they made a good Joe out of Sou's death. It makes me think like Sou programmed Joe into saying bad stuff when Sara voted Kanna and good stuff when Sara voted for Sou, just like he wanted. That means maybe in the two endings Sou tells Joe what to tell Sara...? Before you say anything- PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL. And this is just something that I thought, so don't say I spoiled either. Buh-Bye!

Joe was his natural self without any tempering in Sou's death. He did temper with AI Joe in Kanna's death ending though.
