No Cover is the only true original music competition show focused on changing the lives of unsigned artists. This series is about discovery, mentorship, hard reality and launching careers. No Cover is created and produced by the music business, not traditional Hollywood studios. We believe this is the show fans and musicians around the world have been waiting around for years to see and it’s finally here! NO COVER, NO MERCY!
No Cover was filmed on location at the legendary Troubadour and Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood, CA. 25 of these original artists will be competing for the top prize, which includes a six figure recording contract with Sumerian Records, representation from United Talent Agency and Shelter Music Group, performance slots at a Danny Wimmer Presents Music Festival, a $10,000 shopping spree from Guitar Center, PLUS! brand new gear from Gibson USA, Mesa Engineering, Ernie Ball, Liquid Death and Discmakers. No Cover features five main celebrity judges: Alice Cooper, Lzzy Hale, Gavin Rossdale, Bishop Briggs and Tosin Abasi. No Cover is hosted by Kellin Quinn (Sleeping With Sirens) Caity Babs (Sirius/XM) and Matt Pinfield (MTV, Vh1)

Avery, You and Mirror Lake should have advanced. Its hard to be black and play this kind of music. My suggestion to you guys would be to reach out to Sevendust, Clint or Lajon would be the best ones to talk to. They are known for supporting upcoming metal bands. Maybe you can get on their tour. #BLACKROCK.

The acoustic song from Mirror Lake was just unfreakingbelievable. Really took me somewhere in my head and had me reeled in within the first 5 seconds. I don't typically listen to their overall style, but I'll be damned if I don't check out more of their stuff. I was just floored the entire performance. Also, much respect for her response about going solo. Really stayed true to herself and the band. Night Spins was also incredible as well. At first I couldn't say I was into them, but the more I listen to them, but more I understand them. The frontman has a great energy and really gives in to the performance, and the musicianship as a whole is very strong. I can see them winning the finals, even though The Native Howl are truly incredible musicians as well. All in all, every artist on here is going places and won't be the last time I hear from them.

I really wanted to like the acoustic version of Somber by Mirror Lake, but I couldn’t get over the fact that they reused their first song. I wasn’t impressed with Night Spins’ first song back in their first episode, but every song after blew me away. They’re not just talented musically but also have incredible stage presence and deep, personal lyricism. That’s really rare. I love The Native Howl but I’ll be just as happy if Night Spins win. This finale is going to be great either way.

You guys were great! That second song had a very enjoyable pop punk vibe kinda like old Greenday/Blink-182. I think you should readopt the original chorus lyrics and maybe harmonize those na-na's, but that's just my personal opinion. the night spins may have had it for me from the first song today, i’ve come around to them and they seriously invoke something inherently british in my heart lmao, like british summer bike rides with whiskey breath-but in all seriousness, they burst onto the scene and overwhelm you with their sound; you _have_ to drop what you’re doing and hear them. it’s not a choice! in the best way-and then some part of you is moving! they’re so charismatic and were by far the most cohesive on that stage this ep.

@@shelbybilicki totally agree, another Michigander here so I'm not gonna pretend I'm not biased. The Night Spins have this folky, rehearsed mess quality a la Jack White. That frantic and panicky style. They also have great showmanship. I also think The Native Howl have excellent cohesion, incredible musicality and creativity with their instruments and arrangements. They also have amazing showmanship. They are clearly more experienced though and with as great as both of these bands are that's really the only thing I can see as a deciding factor between them. Also they rep the mitten so I'm smitten. (full disclosure I also knew of Native Howl about 2-3 years prior to the show so I'm sure that also colors my view)

I thought all four bands were really good. Slaves to Humanity have so much potential. That they're that good that young is a massive positive. Once they find their sound properly the sky's the limit. Night Spins are ready to go. They tell a story every song. Penny Fountain are right up my street, a blend of grunge and punk. Give them a few years to really perfect their sound/playing and they'll be great. Mirror Lake. Holy heck that acoustic version of Somber was outstanding. The single best performance of the entire series. If they can do more songs like this they would be huge! Tosin absolutely nailed it with his comments. They should get him on board as their producer or something!

Very rarely does music competition shows do something different, but No Cover has been a breath of fresh air. I was pretty skeptical of the show at first but was bored and gave it a chance. Man, I'm glad I did! This show is great! Each week I see this on my feed and immediately have to watch it. Thank you for putting this out. Tosin has been my most favorite judge with his honest criticism. These bands should really heed his advise as it's perfect feedback. I'm a metal head, however, Night Spins have really grabbed me this season. I found myself looking for more of their music and was really excited to see them this episode, and they didn't disappoint. That wedding gown song was fantastic and Pass the Salt has been stuck in my head all week. Native Howl are awesome as well and I'm not sure who I'd pick. Both bands are quirky, unique and talented. Night Spins are so unique and just flat out fun and interesting. The vocalist is damn good, that along with his facial expressions and all around stage presence is just a blast to watch. Fantastic music and just an original band all around. I really hope this is that break they need to get out there to more people. Also what frickin high praise from Tosin, no constructive criticism at all to give and then a unanimous decision to top it off. I love this show!

I think the judges made the right decision. Night Spins are the most mature songwriters of the bands in this round and arguable the most mature of all the bands in this show. They kinda remind me of Modest Mouse, but with a bit more edge. Every band on this show has serious talent and I hope they all find success.

Night Spins = Cold War Kids’ and Modest Mouse’s love child. And Tosin wondering if there’s a market for their sound today- there never was. That style is great and meant for the underground because most music listeners aren’t sophisticated enough to appreciate it.

Both Night Spins and Native Howl have one quality in common besides their talent, skill and professionalism: They know exactly what they're doing, and they're not kids. They're full-grown men in their late twenties or thirties, and they've been doing the stuff they do for a while. Also: Mirror Lake should can the synth backing tracks. If they're more important to the song than the rhythm guitar, then switch the rhythm guitarist to keys - the parts are easy.

I feel like that’s why they don’t belong in this competition. From my understanding this competition is for bands in need of help. Not bands fully fleshed out. Bands like Mirror Lake & Slay Squad literally could go somewhere if they had support and a helping hand from professionals. So to see Native Howl and Night Spins going on just really confuses me. The show contradicts itself.

Night spins is the full package. But slaves were honestly a close second... I honestly think mirror lake was a bit overrated due to that last performance. Her vocals are good but the band would need a lot more work to develop there sound... where as slaves I really feel like if you have them some hit songs they would have everything else ready to take off with it. Good episode.
