You guys make awesome videos. I really appreciate the way you put the part numbers on the screen. Well thought out and helpful.

Can I ask why you didn’t have the front cover have side skirts that go down over the edge just like the back? Seems like a no brainer. Without the side skirts. Chips still get under them.

The video is from the “old” style way covers. The current way cover set does have the wrap around on the front. -Barry

I like how many people complain about the cost of your product which is an incredible design yet no one takes the time to make the same product and sell it for way cheaper if it’s really as simple to do as everyone claims…..

Sadly, even with freight rates starting to drop, it’s still over $700 Aus Pacific Micro Pesos bye the time it gets to Aus. Great product, really want a set for the mill, but short of winning the lottery there’s no way I could justify the expense sadly, for a couple of bits of rubber and alloy brackets. On a brighter note tho, that’s come down from $1000+ $🇦🇺 last time I tried to order a set during the pandemic when freight rates went to the moon. 🙄 Perhaps if I wait it will keep coming down if freight rates / postage ever go back to anywhere near “normal” again. 🙏

Some of our international customers use shipping companies like MyUS.com that bulk ships overseas to cut down shipping costs. We can't do much with costs because we work directly with the companies, but something like that may be worth it to look into.

@@HWMachRepair I do have a drop ship account with “Shipito” in the USA, where I could have it shipped, then they can on ship it to me. Being a big player in freight industry they get much better rates than what I could get, plus you can insure it etc. They will even combine packages from different suppliers into one package to save on freight cost. I’ve used them for companies like McMaster Carr who only ship to US (& Canada I think), and it’s worked well. I just don’t know what the parcel size & weight would be for these way covers - to get a quote from them compared to your freight / postage supplier? I really would also like a torque right air power draw bar kit as well so maybe I keep saving up & can get both sent to Shipito and combine them into one package to save on freight perhaps? I have a lot more wants than available cash since buying this Bridgeport mill, it’s actually keeping me in the poor house, buying tooling etc, so it could take a while to get to the more expensive items tho. Last week was $1k on a Align brand Taiwanese X axis power drive and 240-110 volt power transformer. I’ve still to work out how to rip the OEM one out and make a new stub shaft to fit the new drive, because I believe the Erskine board on the Bridgeport was already shot when I bought it and I can’t find anyone to fix it here downunder, so new X Axis power feed seemed like the easiest answer. Some days I wish I was in the USA to have access to guys like yourself who can rebuild repair & restore the Bridgeports. Given time I’ll get the way covers and power drawbar eventually. If my missus ever finds out what I’m spending on this thing, it will be off to live in the dog kennel. 😳😳😂 My biggest fear is that I die unexpectedly and she sells all this gear for what I told her I paid for it! 😜😂😂🙏

@@ianmoone2359 Well if that happens you will make someone else very happy with the price 😂 If you are ever needing shipping sizes, we do have that on the website, there are three tabs if you scroll down that say "Description", "Additional Information" and "Reviews". All the weight and size info is under the Additional Information tab. Or just send an email and we can help you out.

How COOL is this??? Do you have anything for a SIEG 7 x 14" mini lathe?? Gb bg

The supplier that we get them from is just a small one man show. He doesn't really have the resources to make custom covers unfortunately. The one company that I know that does custom covers is Gortite. Sorry we can't help you out more!

Do you have way covers for a BP Series II?

Sorry it took so long to get back with you, I needed to get a quote from my supplier. We can get Series II Accordion Way Covers from a different suppler and they are $937.50 for a complete set. Give us a call if you would like to discuss them further. 1-800-285-5271.

Love the covers and simplicity of installation. Problem i find is the front right corner is a catch point. With the table up higher in the area of us (for me mostly). that sharp corner will catch my shirt and or belly area. Not sure how to solve the problem. Maybe a rounded corner or soft round rubber corners. Still a solid design and i want them for our old j head at work. Love it.

guns1war That's a great idea that we will pass along to the manufacturer. Until he can implement some changes perhaps a quick fix would be to dremel down the edges so that they are more smooth?

Nice accessory to the mill . Best set up I've seen for them. But woefully overpriced. Ill watch for China made for $49.95 .

Or just order a sheet or neoprene or silicone as front and rear way covers, then use magnets, or screws to secure it with a aluminum bar mount. Cheap and easy. Neoprene will be ruined by some of the new water based coolants so silicone is better if you use water based coolant.

Robert B, that would be nice if they were elastic and contracted to nearly zero at end of travel, if relativaly durable.

Yeah, 300bones is TWICE what they should cost. Pricing seems to elude a lot of people. If they were 100bucks, they would sell 4x the couple they sell now per month. :-/

I priced a set posted to Aus, and with another $US 250 freight on top of the $US 350 for the way covers, convert to $Aus was $900 by time they arrive. Then add another $90 GST (Goods & Services Tax) to get them in through customs, that’s about $1k 🇦🇺 For 2 bits of concertina rubber? In the words of “the castle” (Aussie Movie). “Tell him he’s dreamin’”. 😜👎 I think I could find a better use for $1k sh!tsvillian pacific micro pesos thanks. Love your videos, but just wow on your prices, thanks but no thanks.

Those accordion covers are expensive. I doubt one could source them for less than 100. Plus the aluminium plates... plus labour... At least it's made in the USA
@manmachinemake37083 жыл бұрын
$330 is $230 too much for a simple cheaply made and sourced product. Im sure the big corporations don't bat an eye at the cost but realistically, they have new CNC machines and don't care about the old rattle trap in the corner. The small businesses like mine that still use a manual Mill can't justify the $$$. I only buy my B.P. parts from your company and have no problem paying for the right quality piece, but that price is out of reach
