No ILS for the whole month! RNP Approach to the rescue. Landing the 737MAX in Sofia RWY09

I guess they are fixing the ILS so we need to revert to Non Precision approaches. These are Visual, VOR and RNAV/RNP approaches.

Which you prefer, ILS or without when approaching?

Always ILS! Its the most accurate and we can also perform an autoland off of it (if possible)

At which point you have to do a full ILS Approach ? How to be a pilot without "Abitur" ?

Most major airport require an ILS approach from at least 10 miles. In smaller places you can do a shortened approach or a visual. To become a pilot you go to pilot school which doesn’t normally require any school certificates.
