Congrats guy, turn negatives into positives. You will love it. I too have a new Ranger so I watch with interest. I also weigh rigs for a living and am very conscious of my weights. Just make sure you understand all your weights and limitations. Weight adds up with two kids and dog plus all the goodies. I have only done a six week trip around QLD but my favourite places were Lara Wetlands, Gregory River Camping (free), Notch Point (free), Etty Bay Caravan Park and Byfield area just to name a few. Can’t wait to see your travel videos, drive safe.

Good news is a bigger van will mean we can move some of the things we currently have to carry in the canopy, into the van. We’ll look for something that’s well balanced and a lower towball weight. If you’re based in Perth have to hit me up and we can get everything weighted before our travels.

Thanks Shayne! Yes was a lot of debate what to do on the house and for the reasons you outlined we thought it was best to sell now. Crazy to think that this idea was no more than a pipe dream only months ago and we’ve landed to this decision - the stars have somehow aligned and we’re ready to do something bold, step outside the comfort zone. Will be a something for the kids to experience and learn from. Appreciate your message and support! If you’re thinking about it just do it - live in the moment ☺️

Seems I'm the only one who has a bit of an alternate view of this. My first redundancy paid off our home and the second one a few years back meant that, along with what we had saved, I no longer had to go to work. I guess we all have choices to make.
