My husband has made 189 of these in the last 5 years, he got the jig pattern from KZbin from a fellow in Canada. He put a hinge on the arm so he can lift it up to see the cutting progress. If you plane the wood to 3/4 inch you can get 6 or 7 full turns of the blade handle.

Pretty ingenious, and it beats the hell out of how I've been doing things (with chisels, by hand). I have a couple slabs of teak that I've been trying to find a purpose for, and I think I'll give your method a try (teak is hard as stone, and really hard on my chisels). Thanks!

I don’t have any 8/4, but I can laminate! Easily the safest way I have seen to do this…makes it doable for us newer woodworkers. Thanks so much!

Yes laminated pieces work just as good and you can even mix it up and use different species . I’m gonna be making some bowls from laminated pieces and will record that as well , thanks for commenting , and good luck ! This is by far the safest , most efficient way with out a lathe. I’ve seen some people do some dumb things trying to make bowls on table saws and it’s just out right idiotic. As long as you use the right blade for the size of your piece and respect the rpm being turned directly at you , you will be just fine. My fingers litterally can’t get touched by the blade using this method . Thanks again , you’re a rock star 💫

That’s awesome !! Do you have to use a dato blade ? And I watched one of your videos earlier on the dovetail jig ! Could you one day do a video on how you use that jig ! Thanks !! Getting the fever to make some saw dust ! 😎😎😎😎
@Bearded-Viking-WoodWorks
@Bearded-Viking-WoodWorks 8 ай бұрын
Hell yeah ‘!! I’ll work on the video for that ! And you don’t have to use a dado blade no but just keep in mind that my dado is 8” blade and if you use anything bigger it cuts out a bit longer than it does deeper with a smaller blade . 👌

I’ve always done it clockwise , as it seems to flow better with the rotation of the blade
