No Leash? How to get your Wingboard back

Thank you will practice 🙏 I wish I knew that last week ... I broke my Leach about 3 km off shore ( I was the only guy out there ) strong wind lots of current couldn't swim fast enough with the wing attached to reach my board.... I just let the board go and focused on my own safety it was scary out there .... I sat on the wing and waited 5 mn (great floating device) until I spotted a yacht 400 m away I kept waving my arms and call for help ....they saw me...they pick up my board on there way then pick me up ....I was lucky it's summer new year holidays was more boats passing than usual....

I will try it out ... thank you ... did you have a leash break for the wing already? these days I lost my wing in the middle of a session a 1km from shore... very scary ... any tips how to prevent? I am thinking o attaching it to the wrist additionaly

Hi Christoph, Yes. I have broken wing leashes, but only when being washed in big waves. I was lucky an could catch the next wave and surf to the wing before it took off. What leash are you using and where is it breaking? The wrist leashes with plastic buckles are the ones I have seen break a lot. Some of my friends who have those add an extra line around the buckle to hold the wrist cuff together in case of the buckle failing.

Can you go crosswind? If so please explain how. I assume that going upwind is not possible. Is that so? If you have lost sight of your board can you stand on your wing?
