For anyone watching this after update 4.0 there are no longer manual save points, there are only 'restore points' and auto saves. Exiting your ship currently creates a restore point(so does any method of creating a manual save in older versions) and a new auto save. I just did this today on my second character and my best advice is to create a 'restore point'/save just after collecting the 3rd sole, returning to your ship/reality, cracking the void egg and just land as close to the host vessel as possible and just doing it by eye until you are satisfied with the look of the ship.🤷‍♂️

If you're reloading and going to the ship and seeing that sometimes it is a regular ship, to save time the times that it ends up being a regular ship just reload your autosave from the moment you got out of your ship right next to the supposed living ship, it should be your living ship now. Then if it's not the one you want start over by reloading your manual save.

For anyone watching this in 2024, manual saves were removed in a previous update and the quest has changed slightly. The biggest thing you need to do differently is at the end, after getting back through the portal, hit up your save point, get into your ship. This will still create a restore point which is different from an autosave. You’ll receive a marker after the host contacts you and as long as you don’t get out of your ship and hover around it to view it instead, you can then reload the restore point and it will spawn in differently. Getting out of your ship for any reason whatsoever will create a new auto restore point in place of your manual one though rather than having to repeat the quest to get a different one, purchasing the egg again will give you the co-ordinates/quest marker and you need I think it’s 10,000 Nantes to claim that ship. Using the portal again after coming back through it with random glyphs is now redundant as after getting into your ship there, you will have to come back through to elucid/whatever the starter galaxy’s called. I’m just reloading my restore point now until I get the one I want and I hope at least someone finds this and does the same before getting out of their ship for a proper look or something

My first Living Ship was an accident. I bought a Void Egg, and put it in inventory. Well, when I pulsed in space, that started the Star Birth Mission. I just followed the instructions and I accidentally got a LS I happen to think is beautiful! But now I want another, a very colorful one. Like a rainbow! Here we GOoooo! Your video here is awesome! It tells how to do the minor stuff yes, but also the major stuff it would take us years to stumble on. Like how to get ANY ship we want. That is an important one man, thank you!!!!!

If you get a freighter cargo bulkhead from a Derelict freighter and use the bulkhead to increase the storage size of the freighter it will also increase the storage on your living ship!!! So definitely go get them

LISTEN UP for those on xbox and don’t know how to change your time it’s pretty easy 1. go too xbox settings and go too network then go offline 2.restart your console and wait for it too turn on 3.now go back too xbox settings and go too clock and you should be able to change the date/time hope this helps!!

quick tip for any time skippers, at least in my case i didnt even have to go offline only just change my pc's date and time a day forward and the parts for the ship where there but also anything else that relied on time such as frieghter missions or settlement construction was also done so seems it doesnt rely on the internet to check date and time

On Ps4 you can literally go to the date and time setting and move the time 1 day ahead...without going offline or anything. I do it all the time when it asks me to wait a certain amount of time.

Save your quicksilver to get up to 3600 (I think it's the most expensive item) then do the following : buy the item you want and reload immediately, see your quicksilver is back but if you go to the vendor the item you bought previously will say "available" claim it for free, run to your ship and jump in and out to make an auto save, now you got the item for free, rinse and repeat for all the items you need from the quicksilver vendor

It's a glitch egg. You need a plain void egg

If you are on Xbox you can do a “looking for group” and ask for one and people are kind enough to do it and it took me like 2 minutes to get someone :) 👍

From what I understand, all of the parts have to be gathered in Euclid, but after making a manual save, instead of using the glyphs on the portal in Euclid is it possible to use the base teleporter to go to a similar set up in another galaxy and use glyphs there?

The glyphs you get to complete the mission to collect the souls have to be in Euclid and what you do after that is totally by your choice that’s why I said to prepare a teleporter also that you will be able to go to other galaxies as well

I swear it really does work to just sit in the anomaly. Some guy gave me 2 stacks of ai valves and put me at 500 mil now I try to bless those less fortunate even if it's just a bit. I would prolly be able to get a void egg if console had a text feature. Unless I'm missing something lmao

After changing the times and getting the ship.l, can you save in the ship and change the date back from the one you started with, but without losing the ship?

Once you complete the starbirth mission the first time, you dont have to do all of this again. Just find the ship you want & take it

I’m on pc and what I did is to enter the game in offline mode then moved the clock 1 day ahead of time then returned and saved I know that on ps4 you can do the same it is verified you can check in the comments to see what other players from Xbox did as well should be the same process just need to move 1 day ahead the console clock while offline then save the progress should work let me know how it went good luck 👍

@@qballgamingYT I did find a tutorial on how to move the date forward on Xbox however you can't be 'game sharing' (basically you set your home Xbox as your friends and you can share all your games) and I'm 'game sharing' with my brother so I can't check to see if it actually works but from what I can tell it probably would work so if someone who isn't game sharing could test it then we'll know. (I would test it but if I disable game sharing I won't have access to no man's sky anymore) Thanks
